Preseason don't mean squat.

All that meant was that the Steelers will have an easier time making their first cuts.....

Yeah, they looked good Sunday. Didn't make the stupid bonehead plays that Lions fans are use to seeing.

Have I upset some Steelers fans? =) The score and outcome of the game aside, the Lions looked really good compared to past seasons.

The Lions have made some excellent moves in the offseason, and are no longer in the cellar... I'm predicting a .500 record this year, and barely missing the playoffs.

Don't piss me off. I'm in a bad enough mood as it is. Anyway, I'm sure the Lions are well on their way to a whole 4 wins this year! Have they replaced Millen with one of those wind-up cymbal-clapping monkeys yet?

Lions still suck

check the game out - the Lions offense did nothing against the Pitt starters

Pre-season scores are meaningless, though if you are a Lions fan I could see where you might get excited.

Marriuci(sp) will be a big help over there(look what he did for the niners, there's no doubt in my mind he'll make a team out of the Lions). It'll be a while, but mooch is a run and gun heavy west coast O guy, and he'll MAKE the players around him think/work the way he wants them to.

Mooch isn't as run'n'gun as you might think coming from the 49'ers...check their rushing stats the last few years - he is actually much more conservative than his reputation would indicate...Part of the reason he left SF was the clash in styles with Walsh, TO, and Garcia, all of whom wanted to open things up more.

The Lions will be lucky if they win 4 games this year

You would too if you were playing against a bunch of guys who won't be there in a few weeks. :)

I've been considering it too... they didn't make typical Lions mistakes, which gives some hope. I think this year team has the potential to be better than teams from the past few years.

C'mon guys... The Lions are much improved, and not only at coach...

They picked up Dre Bly to address their sorry cornerback situation, Earl Holmes to beefen up the linebacker core, drafted Charles Rogers as a playmaker for Joey Harrington (who now has a year of experience under his belt).

Seriously, how can you think they NOT better than the last two years?

Hey the Lions shouldn't be horrible this year. They will beat the Bears in that division for sure. It'll be GB, Vikes, Lions, Bears with GB and Vikes going to the playoffs. The Steelers will win there division without a problem...who is their competition? And could even get home field throughout do to easy division and other AFC divisions being VERY tough, they will be #1 or #2 seed.

Bly is not really great, he was just the best free agent DB, Holmes was washed up when the STeelers let him go, rookie WRS only make an impact once a decade or so, and they have no running game. No, the Lions will struggle to win 6 games.
