Those downy woodpeckers are pigging out on my suet feeder. I guess they don't worry about high cholesterol levels!;)

I read somewhere that tree huggers are sueing a company for trying to develop a solar farm in the Mojavi desert. It isn't good for a rodent that lives there.

I'd like to global warm those headline seeking IDIOTS in a microwave :|

December 24, 2008:

The folding race is doing just great: the points are just flowing in and the TeAm has crunched an all time high (I think ... ;) )
The challenge is doing well to - at least all in all. The team-to-team race with [Hard]-OPC is going very well - for [Hard]-OPC. They will probably pass us today and then - if they maintain their production and we ours - win by a healthy margin of approximately 1 000 000 points. They are really a good team, they have a lot of fun and a lot of heart.

To day is Christmas Eve. Five of 8 inhabitants of the house are down with the flu: fever, body aches, head aches, coughing and all the holly baloo. We will try to make it good in spite of all - but concentrate on the important and not doing it all. The food is not the hard part - it is prepared to more than 85% - the hard part is to keep the spirit up.

Well, what else should a psychiatrist and former football doctor/cheer leader be good at? ;)

Christmas Eve is today.
1 more day to Christmas Day.
6 more days to New Years Eve.
7 more days to the end of the Folding@home Race.
7 more days to the end of the WCG New Year Challenge

Well here's a holiday GET WELL SOON wish to all of you.

I think if I were going to get sick, the Petrusbroder household would be a pretty good place. I hear they know a doctor that makes house calls.

The pace might slow a little, but I'm sure the holidays will be a blessing.

(now if I could just land some of these new juicy GPU work units and make a decent contribution to our race........... /me resists giving PCs that dirty look. They've been doing a yeomen's job all month!)

December 25, 2008:

The Christmas fiest has been very peaceful. Since quite a few of us were less than energetic, but all of us were in a good festive mood, it all turned out very nice. All were happy about their gifts, they were all appreciated a lot. The food was eaten, there are enough left-overs to last a few days, so nobody need to exert him/her-self.
Tomorrow I am on call for 24 hours - but that won't be too bad, I hope.

;) I'll not present any stats on the gifts. :p

The [Hard]-OPC team has by now passed TA in the WCG-challenge. This is on one way very good, because in this way the projects got at least two million points worth of WUs more crunched that it would have without the team-to-team challenge.

I wish you all a very nice, peaceful and happy continuation of the holiday season! :D

1 day past Christmas Eve.
Today is Christmas Day.

December 28, 2008:

The Christmas celebrations are now past; all the kids are recuperating well, exceppt Josie the youngest daughter: she is well in most senses of the word but her wisdom-teeth (those which are sitting farthest in) are all erupting at the same time ... I mean, normally one comes at a time, for her all four of them.

She now knows how teething feels; she can barely eat, only drink. She has been at the dentist's and he said that there is space enough for the teeth and that none of them nbeeds to be extracted (which is good ...) but it is still painful. She is a fighter (not one "I-feel-sorry-for myself-exclamation, she tries to look normal), but I can feel her pain. Of course, this too shall pass ... but I would prefer that is passes much sooner than later.

Tomorrow I start on my trip to my parents-in-law, a 1 400km (870 miles) trip to the south of Sweden in darkness, and probably snow fall. We will be celebaring New Year there ...

The stats are doing no problems. To my surprise the scripts work OK and very little actual editing needs to be done.

It is time to set up the new poll for TAS. That will be done later today.

I wish all of the TeAm Mates a Happy New Year!

Here are a few pics from our wonderful nature. Please look at the pics in order ... :

Sunrise Christmas Eve just before 9 o'clock.
Sunrise Christmas Eve just after 9 o'clock - the clouds came in ...
The woods less than a 15 minutes walk from home.
A Lapland Owl - not often seen so close to town - flew by.
The Lapland Owl some minutes later ... the sun had moved on ...

A Wiki-link to the Lapland Owl.

Edit: Added Wiki-link.

Nahh, 14 - 16 hours depending on weather conditions. ;)
We are two drivers: 2-3 hours each, with 2-3 hours rest between driving periods.
Good highways all the way.

:D I just ckecked the LAN in our house:
There are currently 36 computers connected: 24 belonging to the "house", 1 printer server, and a LAN-party with 11 guests ...
CoD and WoW are being played on a total of 17 computers.
The flow through the router is just now 65-78Mbits/s (downstream) and 27-35Mbit/s upstream ... :D
