Czar, honestly I don't remember this forum ever being civil, it was created because two Iraqi threads in OT wasn't cutting it at the time. They did advise everyone to show respect and follow the rules, but it seems like they give much more latitude here, thankfully. We are all grown up and can take a little abuse, and we wouldn't be here if we couldn't
I would hardly call the increased flaming and name calling growing up, its more like going back to kindergarden, the forum just keeps going lower and lower. And people, if you need to went, go to fark.com and take a part in their flame fests, thats just a standard there.

He he he, you hit the nail on the perverbial head, Politics is extremely Kindergardenesque.

"We are all grown up and can take a little abuse, and we wouldn't be here if we couldn't"

Because of that fact alone most know when to back off.

I believe it has actually established itself quite well and true to it's name, well done everyone.

One way to get the forum under control would be to set up an agreed set of rules by "both sides" and then have "each side" police themselves. I'd agree to that.

Nitemare, Michael, Alistar7, CADKindaGuy, Etech, Shinerburke, Charisson, etc. are a pretty good representation of the "conservatives". I bet we'd all agree on a common set of rules.

Anyone from the "liberal side" care to gather a group and police your side?

/me waits for moonbeam to start talking about my use of the word "police" and pain and Bush is a disaster to take this totally off topic.

thats a realy good idea :)

I would love to have one rule added to it, one that was an unwritten one on ot years ago, well two rules realy. Do not start a thread with the purpose of throwing personal attacks against someone and do not throw personal attacks against someone who has not posted in that particular thread.

Like I just did against Moonbeam? :) If it was a consensus rule, I'd follow it. If I didn't, then I'd expect "my side" to call me out on it.
