The Spotify Playlist Thread

I searched and didn't see anything like this, so pardon me if there is already a thread.

Spotify, if you don't already know, is unbelievably awesome. A new word that is more awesome than "awesome" needs to be invented to describe it.

One of the major pluses of Spotify is the social aspect of it. You create playlists, and other people can view/listen to them. You can even do collaborative playlists.

I've created a couple of electronic playlists so far:

Dance Party - A collection of songs that get me moving
Electric Chill - Nice and lazy
Chillwave - Newish sub-genre, good summer/beach music

I'm sorry, I don't have any invites at this time. If I get some, I'll post them here.

Spotify Resources:
sharemyplaylists.com - Browse or search for playlists that match your taste
pansentient.com/spotify-resources/ - The ultimate list of Spotify add-ons (connect your last.fm account, tap into your friends' last.fm accounts, new music recommendations, etc etc etc

I'm using it for free? - I can honestly say Spotify is the best music search program I have used to date. If I owned a cell phone, I might consider the premium to sync the music.

to be able to use the phone app you need to have the 10$ a month plan

the only time i use any online music service is on my phone

its not worth 120$ a year

Agreed. Deciding to go Premium for ONLY $10/month was a no-brainer.

I'll have to check out those playlists. I'm not using it as much as I want. I think once I get my iphone I will. Would be nice using the app combined with airplay to play everything through the stereo at home.

i find it too much effort to troll for good new music, even through friends' playlists. I wish there was a "play random songs from all my friends' playlists" feature.

i find myself just using turntable.fm to discover new music nowadays 😀

I think it's a good service, I'm just not going to pay for it.

Electronica usually makes me want to stab myself though.

I use it in its free, desktop form. Too expensive for mobile use, and they don't have a whole lot of what I'm looking for anyway.
