I love Splinter Cell to death.

Comments on Chaos Theory:

Sam is perhaps the only action game character who can truly say "I'm getting too old for this sh!t."

He looks kinda different in this one. Younger. The old Sam had grey hair and looked more grizzled.

I wish you got to see Coen. She was cute.

I was on the second to last mission when I finally realised you could scope with the rifle (with or without sniper attachment) by pressing "1".

The bomb defuse part is a bitch like the Library firefight from Pandora.

Sam can't aim worth sh!t. I can't tell you how many times I've had someone's head entirely in the crosshair's area of spread and missed the guy.

YOU CAN DESTROY THE FLYING SENTRY DRONES WITH ONE SHOT FROM THE SNIPER ATTACHMENT.

Destroy tanks by throwing a grenade into the hole in the top. Lambert will praise you for destroying all of them.

I think the dialogue is funny. The laundry comment was really weak, but the old/young bantering is nice.

That is all for now.

love this game as well. just started playing and finished first level without even using any gadgets like the cool sticky camera. Also I still don't know how to do most of the moves. THIS IS A GREAT GAME. thanks for the tips.

I would not get this game for the PC, get it for a console. I have it for the PC and it installs a hidden driver that it uses for copy protection. This driver can cause BSOD's and breaks daemon tools and a lot of burning software. It also is not removed by uninstalling the game but requires you to find a seperate download to remove it. I had problems with my computer for a week before I figured this out. Dont support companys that think just because you buy their game they own your computer. Things like this should be printed on the box.

Other then that, its a great game. Also, because of this driver, the game wont work in windows xp x64

Been playing on Xbox and it is a lot of fun. The co-op is real quality even though it seems a bit like an after thought. The games graphics are just beautiful and the way people interact and talk abotut heir environments is awesome. Almost to the point of being freaky.

Wow, I can't believe this post actually got some replies...

I haven't had any problems with the game crashing on the PC. One thing that I really don't like is how the sticky cameras can no longer knock people out like in the previous two games. The other thing that really irritates me is that bullet damage to your enemies is very unrealistic. You have to practically light someone up with your assault rifle to take them down, not to mention it takes like six pistol shots to the torse to kill someone. But then again you really should be A: getting all headshots, or B: not even using your gun trigger.

Man-O-man I am getting my butt kicked on this one :( I don't have much ammo left and the bad dudes lite me up everytime with just one shot even from across the entire room and yet I can't take thrm out very easy...

its getting VERY frustrating!

Was debating on picking this one up as well. . but after hearing about the hidden install of a copy protection driver (which I do agree with honestly - but would rather NOT have it on my computer), looks like I will be holding off.

Where is the "hidden driver" located. I would like to remove it when I uninstall this game. Thanks for the info.

I have it for pc and haven't heard of any hidden driver, etc. Maybe it's because I do not use DT's.
Any more detailed info on this?

i havent palyed any of them but my roommate just got it...the co-op is awesome...i think i'm gonna get the first 2 on gamecube for cheap and beat them over the summer and by that time, chaos theory should be cheaper as well. good plan i think.

Co-op blows IMO. It is so linear that once you play the map once, there is no fun in it. And there are only like 3 co-op maps.
I never really caught on to the spy vs merc thing either.

Collector's Edition for the PC is now 29.99. Picked mine up today, was the only copy of the game left. Super cheap! Still $50 on Xbox though.

I've played through all 3 Splinter Cells and enjoyed all of them, but personnaly I liked the first 2 better than Chaos Theory; my reasons being that it's 'just' more of the same, the heavy in-game advertising, the hidden anti-copy drivers (which makes it necessary to re-boot your PC when installing the game) and my biggest nit-pick: The way they screwed up Sam's face in-game.

Not quite sure what you mean, but the sticky camera in Chaos Theory can emit sounds to attract bystanders, as well as release a poisonous gas that will knock people out.

On the anti-copy protection, it's called StarForce for those looking for a way to get rid of it when uninstalling their game. This link may help (I haven't tried it so I don't know if it works).

Right away the first thing I hate is the Ubisoft name. I've never had good luck with anything dealing with them, and that didn't change here. The game immediately crashed on startup for me, and I had to go to their support site to find out why. Apparently if ANYTHING makes your computer other than stock Windows, it fubars it. I thought maybe it was Daemon Tools or Nero, and it said you may have to uninstall them, so I did. Still crashed. It was AlienGuise that was doing it, a program similar to Windowsblinds. How retarded. How does the way explorer is displayed have any affect on a game?

Then I went to play it online. I totally forgot my password and tried a couple possibilities. After a couple tries it tells me I'm blocked. How stupid. I said screw it and went to play Farcry.. oh wait, that is Ubi too, no Farcry for me. I hate Ubisoft so much, everytime I deal with them I have problems.

Aside from all that business, the game is pretty sweet.

Honestly you shouldnt bash Ubi for making their game harder to pirate. The PC game community is already so small and you know this game took a lot of money to develop. The game did not break my daemon tools. I am not sure if others have had trouble with this.

If you do get the game and it is definately worth 30 bucks, make sure you patch it immediately - there have already been two patches out for it.

Starforce 3 is going to be used on many products, go ahead and not get this but do a search on copy protection and look at how many games used SF2. It is one of the MOST popular protections.

It has nothing to do with starforce, I didn't care about uninstalling nero and daemon. But they weren't the problem, the game crashed because of an explorer theme, which should have no affect on a game.

I have to say I was blown away, I didn't expect the game to look this good. And I was surprised it was multiplayer online, anyone do that?

Glad I read this thread before i installed my new copy of SC: CT. Best info I can find is before installing the game create a system restore point and then after finishing the game restore back to that point. unfortunately you will lose any changes you make to your system in the interim, so you may wish to keep track of any changes to your system so you can redo them after the restore undoes them (what a freakin pain in the ass! Thanks a LOT UBI!!!).

If I can find any better way to fully uninstall Starforce I'll be sure to post it here.

Well, after killing another hour reading up on Starforce I've come to the conclusion that the uninstaller does not completely uninstall using the provided uninstaller. Given that there is so much uncertainty surrounding this method of copy protection, I'm going to play it safe and return my unopened copy for a refund.

Tough break though, I've really been looking forward to this game and it will be the first splinter cell title i've missed. Sorry UBI, looks like we might be parting ways thanks to your poor choice of protection scheme....

Playing it on the xbox and love it.I have only played the first one before this, have to go back and play the others now.
There was a song on here that I actually stopped and hid myself just to listen to it lol.It was playing in the penthouse level and on the ship a guy is sitting in his room listening to it.After googling it I found its a song by the band Kesshin called Resonance.
That link is a direct link to their site for download.
