The space under the mobo

Would it cause any problems routing power cables (standard molex / sata) under the mobo (in the empty space due to the standoffs) or is it not a good idea?

Edit:
Thanks

Would it be better to try to buy a molex extension cable or just make one? How hard is it to make molex extension cables? What gauge of wire is the best & where is the best place to get the wire & ends?

It'll only mess up the motherboard if there's something conductive down there, which would short out some of the pins. But all the cables and such are insulated, so you don't have to worry about that.

I've always wondered about this too since alot of users seem to hide their cables in this way, but I have never took the chance to try it.

I've managed to route most of my cables to keep them out of the way, but I have one power cable that I've got nothing but my case fans running off of and the fan cables are just kinda lying in the bottom of my case. I'm just trying to figure out a better way to route them.

Hi, There should be no real problem running small leads under the MB. I would put something non-conductive like thin hard plastic between the wires and the board. Buy your extensions unless you have the tools necessary to crimp the MOLEX connectors. You can use pliers to crimp and then solder them if you are handy with the soldering. Good Luck, Jim
