Surprised that doesn't concern you more.

Edit: By the way, let's see how the situation is handled this time around, assuming that no one rich and famous is involved.

lol.. nudist camp pics aren't illegal in the US, no matter the age of the girl

Do programmers just don't care about security anymore? How can you screw up such a simple app?

The programmers didn't screw up, imo. They're trying to deliver on a promise that can't be delivered on. To make digital data uncopyable is, as the sage has said, like trying to make water unwet.

Most small business programmers are fresh-faced CS grads who know jack shit about anything. It's a strength and a weakness of easy to use programming languages like PHP.

Yeah true. The programmers are probably constantly under rushed deadlines and pressure, so that can't help.

It seems so much stuff is getting hacked now, it's crazy.

These programers have known for years that the API of snapchat was bad. These apps 'stealing' the data aren't just screen grabbing. They are recording the data straight from snapchat

A naked picture of an underage girl isn't illegal.
A naked picture of an underaged girl who has a hand up her cooch with a message that says "do i turn u on tommy? ;)" is highly illegal.

Which part should concern me? The fact that teenagers are having sex or the fact that their pictures are all over the internet? It's a matter for their parents.

Get used to every cloud service getting hacked, it's a bigger target and companies continue to get lazy about their hiring and outsourcing practices.

Doesn't matter how they're getting it. The original core value premise of snapchat can't be delivered. A programmer who works there knows they are involved in a big lie, and there are snarky comments in various places in the source that indicate they know it. I don't think they take it seriously, to be honest.

I assume he is referring to the possession, however temporary, of material that the authorities would class as child pornography, and the potential logging of your IP address as having downloaded same.

Nothing seems to get the FBI and the general public in an uproar more than suspected child porn.

It doesn't have to be "child porn" as determined by a court that leads to a conviction... The FBI raiding your house to gather evidence is probably bad enough.

considering the largest number of snapchat users are in the 13-17 camp, I don't think these photos will be uploaded too many places, looks like it's already off TPB as the link was 404'd. There will be some private torrents for sure, but I don't think the major torrent sites will want to host it.

So you are on snapchat often?

100K photos of nude children, thats like 2 million years in prison. They would probably carbonize you in a secret lab as part of a new experimental sentencing system.

You will wake up and be released on parole and then bump this thread in the year 2014000 via your analplug 50K core nanocomputer. (Apple iHole computer)

And someone would say "holy necro!!!" and it would get locked by the sentiment AI moderator.
