Heh I bought the game (Sims 2) for only 17 bucks, why would I pay double for an expansion. Not trying to thread crap, but this is the price everywhere as far as I can tell.

and froogle has a bunch more listed under 35, not to mention that I think when I was in Brunswick, ME Walmart last night I saw it for 29.95 on sale.
