Matt gives some insights on The Simpsons that I don't think most people knew.
He talks about the life span of the show quite a bit even though its a futurama dvd.

maybe, just maybe, people who aren't concerned with being "hip" think it sucks for no other reason than it does? I bet the same people who like the new seasons of the Simpsons think 2 and a half men is hilarious.

It may be hip, it's also right. The show sucks now. It has for years. All the talent is gone, and any that isn't has long since been sucked dry. But the show will still draw viewers and make money because there are enough people out there who will watch anything (except the History channel or something).

It's right because YOU say so? I gave MY opinion. What you say is YOUR opinion. And no, I won't watch anything, in fact I don't normally watch primetime TV anymore, usually just Discover or the Science Channel.

No creative outlet can (or should) survive forever - at some point, you just run out of worthwhile ideas. FOX keeps renewing them and paying more, because somehow, it's still a giant money maker for the network.

If I remember correctly, a few years ago the voice actors demanded an unreasonable increase in pay, partly in an attempt to *get cancelled* and do something new with their lives. FOX paid them to get over their boredom and keep going.

That was the first 'new' episode I've seen in years, and thought it was great. Although it was probably due to all of the 90s references and music, brought back a lot of memories.

Not really...every ATOT'er here has jumped on a bandwagon like this at one time or another. I agree, the quality of the show isn't that great...but just don't watch it if you don't like it.

I still like what few episodes I catch nowadays. I'm looking at the episode listings for seasons after #10 and am seeing some episodes I remember liking and in fact season 13 has several gems in my opinion: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Simpsons_(season_13).

Not really...every ATOT'er here has jumped on a bandwagon like this at one time or another. I agree, the quality of the show isn't that great...but just don't watch it if you don't like it.
