The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror

Ok, I know that the Simpsons has been getting pretty bad recently, or even over the last few seasons, but this treehouse of horror was absolutely horrible.

I felt embarrassed for the writers while I was watching it. I can't even describe how bad it was, you would have to see it to believe it.

Did anyone else make the mistake of wasting 30 min watching this?

I thought the Charlie Brown sequence was nice...but that's probably because I am a HUGE Great Pumpkin fan. I always feel like I died a little bit when I miss "the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown" air on primetime TV near the holidays.

terrrrrible. just terrrible.

transformers scenes had some good laughs, but nothing strung together, and the entire episode as a whole was ugh. Although I did like the pumpkin.

haha, haven't had a chance to see it yet but i think the quality of the show has been consistently decent since the release of the movie

Haven't watched the Simpsons in awhile. Tree House of Horror used to actually be somewhat scary - they did a decent job with it.

used to be guaranteed LOL every year.

missed it this year...and maybe last year? so I have no comment about that....

Yep, same. I haven't watched The Simpsons regularly in a good 3 years, at least. It's been awhile since I've even seen an episode - I've just totally lost interest. I remember way back when it used to appeal to even my dad's somewhat morbid and politically incorrect sense of humor.

it sucked so bad.... i only laughed once.... when homer killed krusty and tried to revive his heart...

I disagree. I think the quality was declining fast before the movie, but it has picked up since then. I haven't seen this ToH one yet.

Um that's kind of what he said. He said it has been DECENT SINCE THE MOVIE. Not sure what you think you're reading, but try again.

Maybe he meant the showed has declined even more since the movie (rate of decline).

I remember a time when they would actually show the Treehouse of Horror episode on Halloween, and then I remember that's when the Simpsons was actually good...

I don't see how "The quality of the show has been consistently decent since the release" can be interpreted as "The show has declined even more since the movie." Decent = good.

Settle down there, Nancy, I just misread his post. I thought it said "consistently in descent". My bad.

uhh, repost times a billion? It seems like every single episode there's one of these, "The simpsons used to be good but now it sucks," threads. Why don't you just post in one of those?

A search for "Simpsons" gave me no results for any threads about how the simpsons are bad since April. I know it has been discussed in other threads, but no thread has been about it specifically. And this isn't about the Simpsons in general, it is about tonight's treehouse of horror.

If it bothers you that much, then ignore it. It was very obvious what this thread was about. If you are tired of this discussion, then don't read it, no one is forcing you to.

I thought it was good. I'm not sure how piling on the Simpsons became so popular here - IMO it still kicks ass on every other animated show on TV, even if it isn't the strongest it's ever been.

The more threads we open daily, the more starving children we feed.

the commercials for it looked good. so i decided to watch the simpsons again for the first time in a long time. boy what a waste of time

I just wish there was a decent episode of the other shows after simpsons, family guy and american dad, but they were both bad other then the small car sing scene in family guy.
