Ok, late to the game, and just now watching this TV show.
The maim thing about the show is that it may have the most obnoxious theme song for TV ever.
 
no it's awesome. it's like 5 seconds long. shorter theme = moar time for story. do you have your volume turned all the way up or something?

have you met armadillo or antwon mitchell yet?

Good show. Not saying the show is bad at all.
Nice to see Boyd Crowder (Walton Goggins).

Deadwood>The Shield
Justified>The Shield
The Shield>Bones
The Shield>The View
The Shield>Most other shows

I'm also a fan of Justified but I first knew him in The Shield, so it was a weird transition for me.
 
Posting in a Shield thread. One of my favorite series of all time...

Still need to watch The Wire and Justified.
 
the shield fucking owns. probably my favorite show of all time. wish i could watch it again w/out knowing the story. was really sad when it ended.

i know it always gets compared to the wire, but i like it better than the wire.

also, the theme song fucking owns.

I think I just realized one of the many reasons I really liked The Shield.

It felt really gritty/raw, do any other fans agree?

Yeah, The Shield was great.

It's the only show I know of that peaked after the first season.

The middle seasons with Antwon Mitchell and Captain Monica Rawling (Glen Close) were awesome.

S01e01 of 24 is one of the best ever. TV has gotten so good these days that I am not sure if I would be so blown away by it now. However, at the time, that pilot was just light years more exciting than any pilot I had ever seen.

Yep both are great, although I prefer the first seasons of Blue Blood compared to the last two.

Boardwalk is just awesome.

Yeah I've been meaning to watch '24' to see what all the hype was about.
