Why not post something since I'm lurking around this thread?!

My name is David and my Folding@Home user name is equally boring (David_Boaz). I'm 29, 6'2", and just joined a fitness club trying to downsize from 230lbs down to 200lbs. So far I've made it down to 221lbs in the last month or so.

I live with my wife Jennifer of 8years, in Lee's Summit, MO, who I met when I was a mere pup at age 16. We have two highly energetic boys (Landon 4, and William 1). I feel very blessed that I have enough resources at my disposal to let my wife stay home with them both through their early years. We don't have a lot of disposable income, but we've never really wanted for much either...I feel very lucky. I'm also a synthetic organic chemist and I'm getting ready to analyze a radioactive compound right now, which actually is a pretty laid back day at work for me. However, the column has to equilibrate before I can inject, so I'm yet again neffing on Anandtech.

I like physical fitness, video games, having "boy time" (as Landon puts it) with my boys, playing pool with friends, swimming, and of course computers. I have a Playstation 2 hooked up to my desk monitor at work, and am currently working through the Deep Dungeon in Final Fantasy Tactics over my lunch breaks.

Small world, Golgatha. I grew up in Raytown, Mo. :) (graduated in '75, it's changed a lot since I was there)

Born and raised in Springfield, MO myself. I was born three years after you graduated ;).

It'll be longer then you think. I lost two dual core machines when Stephen made a mandatory upgrade, or no work for DPAD. They are remote machines that I don't have access to frequently (relatives). I don't know when I'll get a chance to upgrade DPAD on those machines. :(

Oh BTW... I'm Dustin :D

I work Downtown Chicago as a construction foreman, and build computers only for family, and a few customers now. I used to do custom builds for a local shop (I brought everything home, never actually worked in the shop) on the weekends.

I have a house on the lake (north burbs). I'm married, and have a wonderful 1yo son. Oh, and today is his first B-day! :)

Happy birthday to your son Dustin!:)

Seems like a lot of TeAm members are from the Chicago area!

I went to a Cubs game about 25 years back and had a lot of fun. I liked the guys serving  in the stands yelling "Hey Old Style".

Time for another

My name is Bryan

I first started crunching with early versions of SETI screen saver. Found this site when building my first homemade computer (Athlon Slot A 500). I have crunched almost everything there is at one point in time. At the height of my fleets, there were times when people here in mini-races and others over at BBR/DSl Reports feared my infamous yells of "INCOMING!!!!!!" Once Classic SETI went away, I lost some of the drive and My loving wife decided the electric bill was too high.

With that being said, I am happily married for 8 years with 3 children. I have served in the US Navy for 17 years now. and like so many others here I am one of those damn Nukes!!!

Most of my free time is spent either on the XBOX360 with the Kids or playing Eve-Online.

Its good to see that some of you folk from my times spent here on these boards are stil around. Good to see familiar names.

I'm Paul and I love DC and this thread. And I'm one of the new guys.

I'm 6'1" ;), and I currently live in La Jolla, CA, but I've been bouncing around the country. I'm single, had a few girlfriends, but usually enjoying the single life. But family, as with all of you, comes first.

I've previously worked as a network administrator at a school back east and owned my own little "computer tech" company to help pay the bills (that's PCTC. My company was orginally "Paul's Computer Tech Co" but evolved to "Polaris Computer Tech Co" and then nothing), but decided to study at UCSD for a B.S. in ECE and then go for a M.E. in NanoEngineering. I found Anandtech last January (my one year aniversary with AT was last week! but I didn't join til February) and found it a lot more friendly place than some other forums. I've had a lot of computers, starting with my old 486 back in the day, ran SETi back in the good ol' days, but never build my own system for myself until last January so I started searching for a good "home". Since then I've been working a lot to pay the bills and build my computers, in addition to my studies. I'd like to think I'm not addicted. I currently have my watercooled rig in sig running F@H 24/7 and trying to get a second Q6600 up for BOINC (Rosetta). I started DC after July 4th, when I bought my first Q6600 B3. But I've been off and on with computer repairs, upgrades, and other problems. I think I'm finally here to stay 24/7.

TeAm AT, you guys are the bomb.

EDIT: BTW, Amaroque, how do you like my connection? UCSD

Congrats! on the 1 year Anniversary PCTC2!

Unlike RaySun2Be, I'm definetely addicted but I'm hoping they find a cure soon.

Just kidding about the cure for addiction :) but would be nice to cure cancer soon ;)

Don't worry. I'm pretty young compared to most of these old folks. ;)

But Welcome to the TeAm krnmastersgt! I saw your post over at CPU/Overclocking and followed it here. It's good to have more people streaming to the TeAm. I'm a Folding for Life kind of guy.

Oh, and because I'm in school, I'm thinking about taking a student loan out when the government cuts the national interest rate again because of the chance of recession. With that student loan I'm going to expand my Folding Farm from a Q6600 and an E6400 to this:

Current:
E6400 @ 3.2GHz on Abit AW9D-975X + 2GB DDR2-800 running SMP Client
Q6600 B3 @ 3.0GHz on eVGA 680i + 4GB DDR2-1066 running SMP Client

Adding:
Dual E5410 Harpertown 2.2GHz Xeon + 16GB DDR2-667 FBDIMM
Dual E5405 Harpertown 2.0GHz Xeon + 8GB DDR2-800 FBDIMM
QX9650 @ 3.6-4.2GHz on P5E3 + 4GB DDR3-1600
Q9450 @ 3.2-3.6GHz on P5E + 4GB DDR2-800
Q9450 @ 3.2-3.6GHz on P5E + 4GB DDR2-800
Q9450 @ 3.2GHz on eVGA 790i SLI + 4 GB DDR3-1066/1333
and putting a Q6600 in the Abit AW9D-975X

I'm a little quad-happy. ;)

That you are :p Thanks for the welcome ^^
Well there isn't much to know about me, name's James though I prefer Jim, just turned 17 recently, tested out of high school since I thought it was boring and I'm currently and undecided major attending a local community college. Just recently built my second system which is the one in my sig. My connection is nothing compared to your people's speeds o_o. Anyways I hope to be a folder for life, probably resurrect my other 2 systems and have them do some light folding ^^

Edit: On a completely unrelated note, anyone know how I can up my upload and decrease my download speeds? I get unsatisfactory ping in my fps games :/
