The Seahawks are Overrated

I guess "proof" is the wrong word, but this is exactly my feeling on why the Seahawks aren't nearly as good as they claim to be. Just take a look at this article if you believe they're in the top 5 teams in the league - or even the best in the NFC:

I'm not sure who to root for (Cowboys fan here), but I'm leaning towards Denver since they took out those bastard Patriots.

AMEN! Even with Peppers and Foster out, a determined Panthers team can definitely beat the Seahawks. I'll be cheering them on more because I don't want to see the Seahags make it and fold like a deck of cards. The Panthers are the only team in the NFC worthy of being in the Superbowl.

it doesnt matter if they are the best all around team...they have what it takes to win and will be the team that beat every team in their path to the superbowl.

what is your definition of "good"...they might not be the most talented, but they do what they have to in order to win games...I will take that any day over a team that is "better"

How did they "do what they had to do" against the Giants? Did they get into Feely's head and make him miss those THREE field goals?

they scored points, the giants failed to score points, all that matters is the score at the end of the game. If you really think the giants are a better team then you didnt watch the giants-panthers game

I think the 2 best NFC teams are playing this weekend, I wish Foster and Peppers were in though to make it a great game, without them i think seahawks will def. win

Sounds like another biased east-coast reporter who's embarassed that Seattle beat the crap out of their favorite picks. My favorite part is where he rolls out the excuses why Carolina lost days before they even play. Hilarious.

Sooo...., Seattle could only win the Superbowl if there is some fluke? If Seattle beats the Panthers and then loses bigtime in the big game, then maybe Bayless has a point. If Seattle takes the Superbowl, then Bayless should shut his yapper and eat his shorts. (And quit being so patronizing; "Seattle is such a nice place...." --- up yours Bayless!

That is the purpose of the playoffs... eliminate those who are not good enough. Seattle is there because the team can kick a--! GO SEAHAWKS!

I hate the arguement that the division is so bad, if the Seahawks didnt sweep the division it wouldnt have looked so bad, say instead of winning all division games, they lost them all the division games it would have been st. louis 8-8,seattle 7-9, arizona 7-9, san fran 6-10 and one of the "toughest divisons"

Got the snot beat out of them in week one by the Jags... that's a bottom-of-the-barrel AFC playoff team.
BARELY beat the 9ers in San Fran, and allowed them 25 points - only the Rams and Cowboys allowed them more. Houston held them to 20 in an overtime loss.
BARELY beat the Giants at home.
BARELY beat the Cowboys at home.

It's not that they're barely beating teams or losing sometimes, it's that they're barely beating teams that they should be easily handling, and losing to teams that shouldn't even be in the same league as them.

I keep hearing about this "bias" all the time, but nobody ever goes game by game and explains how the analysis is wrong. Again, they're losing to teams that they're "ranked" above (Jags). They didn't have a single game against a good playoff team. Plus, they BARELY beat plenty of teams that they should have stomped. How is any of that impressive? How does ANY of that validate the constant ranking of them in the top 5 of teams in the NFL playoffs?

Carolina is overrated, everyone is counting them to win before they even play Seattle. Also most people tend to undervaulue the Seahawks, how can they be overrated when everyone says they are already?

Rankings nothing. Rankings are like bragging about synthetic application scores. It is not the real world. So stop all the what "should" have happened. If you think such stuff is important, why play at all? Just give the trophy to those with the nicest stats. You play because all that crap means nothing except to give windbags something to jaw about.

Righttttttt, and no other good teams have collapsed to such losing-record teams.

Honestly, that's one of the weakest arguments I've ever heard.

No, I'm admittedly a Rams fan. You're more than welcome to call me a sore loser, though I really didn't mind losing this year as every loss brought us closer to getting rid of Larry Marmie.

But if I'm a sore loser, you're a blind homer if you can't see that they had a cake schedule and don't deserve to be ranked 5th overall in the NFL.

Probably because the whole "X beat Y and Y beat Z therefore X > Z" is worthless and everyone knows it.

Plus Seattle has only lost three games all year. How many games has your team lost?

Once again, someone who refuses to look past their record. That's fine. When Carolina beats them with two of their top players out, you'll be singing a different tune.
