Well, today was an itneresting day.
I woke up late for a tire-changin appointment, and had to wait like 3 hours changed:| Right before I picked up the car( i had been waiting on a bench the whole time:| ) I went to get some trial contact lenses that i had ordered. My vision with my current ones was quite bleak, and I was refreshed to experience how clear the new ones were> Honestly, I hadn't noticed how Sh!!ty my vision had gotten at longer distances. I then went to pick up the car. I thought it was set when I read a paper that the shop left in the car. Turns out my front right rim is a 15'' for some odd reason(the others are 14''), and obviously could only put three tires on, so they put the 4th one in the trunk. After some humble recallection, it turns out that before Christmas, my "Ghetto ass " mechanic had solved a bent rim problem by eagerly replacing the entire wheel and rim with a 15'' rim/tire. After some cooling off, I called and went to a junkyard that had a 14'' wheel, and waited for them to bring it up front. Turns out it had a VERY GOOD CONDITION tire on it, and they didn;t have a corwbar and such to pry it off. For $35 + $10 more, I would got a 14'' rim, a guarentee
, and a GREAT tire. Since I was so eager to pay the extra $10, the owner was like "fvck it," you can have the tire for free Being the keen business man that I am, I insisted that he take the $10 on the condition that he give me a discount on a car stereo, as mine is kaput. So I end up with a 1993 Honda Accord Head unit for $20 , a rim, and an extra tire
On my way back from the junker, I call the tire shop to see if they are still open to pry the free tire off and put the new one on and mount it, and they say come on in. I get there, and they tell me that it will only be 10minutes or so, so I wait right at the mechanics bay and watch them work on my car.
Then I notice some thing very interesting. They were taking off 2 tires Not only that, but the sticker , from 20 ft away, read "protenza" a BF Goodrich brand :| I asked the guy why it was a Goodrich, as I ordered Michelins, and he was like "WTF"...in total confusion. Turns out that I had gotten some cheap tires by mistake. WORST, they screwed up with the 4th tire too. They politely changed them....
And I would have never been able to read the "protenza" sticker if I hadn't gotten new stickers.
At least at the junk yeard I got "their" tires all dirty ...and I was pissed off that my new tires were a mess so soon after.
EDIT: BE NICE! I usually sleep through my entire saturdays, so if a leaf falls and I am ake to see it, it is a big deal
