I enjoyed it during the Kate and Leo days, and even the Pat and Leo days.

It was new and different to have coputer tech on TV, but how many windows tips can you do before it gets old....
 
1st. Patrick wore a "kilt" or skirt sometimes on TV, and I thought that was strange.
2md. Patrick's jean's are always too long, so he folded them.

Pat was the best of the group. The only annoying thing about him was his man boobs. As if he really need to wear such tight fitting shirts 🙁


3rd. Leo always defered to Kevin, so Kevin got Leo's job.

Well we still get to see him here on G4TechTV Canada. His new co-host Amber McCarther is a cutey.


4th. Kevin's girlfriend, the blond one, seem to wear tighter and lower cut shirts, not that I minded.

That's pretty much it. There's the occasional "Making of" about a new game that's on once and a while which is pretty neat. Other than that the network sucks. Oh, also Fresh Gear is decent.
 
I had fuggin TechTV for all of 3 months when I got digital cable, and then they fuxored it up :\. Twas good while it lasted, though 🙁.
 
Leo is/was a great entertainer, plus he knew more about tech, programming, and is a vital connection to the history of computer tech. I can't believe how stupid network programmers are that they couldn't see he was the heart of Techtv.

There never was much about TechTV that was truly special, except the live shows, Call For Help and The Screensavers. Other than that it was like a lot of cable channels, lots of canned productions, reruns, and product showcases disguised as programming. Of course this is even more true of G4 which is mostly one big advertisement. A few of the canned shows are entertaining for a gamer, Judgement Day, Filter, Cinematech, G4 Live, but even the good shows are rerun to death.



 
I never cared for The Screensavers, but I really dig Unscrewed. It is just kind of a whacky off-beat show and basically the only show on TechTV (f G4) that I like. They got enough crap programming as it is, I think they could have axed something else.

Word on the G4TechTV Forums (warning, not for the faint of heart) is that these shows got the ax not because of ratings, but because the execs want the channel to be 100% games and nothing else.

I jumped shipped after the merger, but would still tune in occasionally to see if anything good was on (which rarely happened). I won't even do that, anymore.
 
Yeah, I did some surfing over at the forums there and notice some blog that mentioned about wanting to go 100% games. Which, is pretty lame I think. Not lame just because they cancelled a few good shows but pretty dumb to have the entire network to run shows that mimic each other. People complain about programming on the big mainstream media channels (ABC, CBS, NBC) but even they mix up their programming. TechTV is going to lose a lot of viewers, I think.
I wonder how many hardcore gamers actually watch the gamer shows on TechTV on a regular basis?
 
haven't had TechTV since around the time of the merger. I saw enough of the changes to know that I don't miss it.

TechTV was barely keeping their head above water, and then G4 and their load of incessantly repeating crap came in with all the appeal of a boat anchor tied around their necks.
 
Am I the only one who never liked that show? That Leo guy was pretty darn charismatic and was a really good host, but I didn't like the structure of the show.

If that's true, that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard of. Before G4 merged with TechTV, all it was, was games. If they do this, then they'll have basically squandered the entirety of TechTV. You almost wonder if this wasn't part of some larger plan just to put TechTV out of business, since they would be partial competition.

Clearly thats what this is. I guess we'll know a little more once the new 'TSS' comes out.. Its probably going to be a game review show?

What really sucks ass is most of the guys that got cut, just moved down from San Francisco to keep their jobs no more then 4 months ago.. what bullsh!t.

You know, exactly HOW MANY shows can you have on one network that devote their time to tossing Halo2's salad? Lately when I check G4 that's all it is, one big salad-tossing party about how great Halo2 is. What a fvcking joke.

and the kid piera (sp?) doesn't seem to have a clue
