There's a sound that I've heard in a couple commericals and TV shows that sounds like something out of one of the Doom games. It's one of the demon attacks, I think.
 
What about the overused "ignition" explosion sound? Doesn't matter if it's cars, buildings, gas cans, volcanoes, etc. It's almost like a cracking whip.
