That's actually pretty cool. I wonder if increasing the rate of fire of POMC neurons increases the release of POMC derivatives - that would be rather unfortunate, I would think.
 
Hah, almost forgot I started this.
I myself am curious if cigarette smokers have any adrenal dysregulations, but that sounds like a paper for another time if any clinicians want to add further fuel to the fire against big tobacco. I just want something that will convince patients to stop smoking and this kind of news is not likely to do it.

Still, I agree it is very cool science. We'll all have to keep an eye on this melanocortin 4 thingy and what the heck is going on there.
