i dunno, i can't see the video (using solaris here... too lazy to get any media players 😛), but i'm inclined to believe that if i'm wearing a giant sausage costume, a tap with a bat is not going to hurt very much. the woman didn't even want to press charges.

The woman said it didn't hurt. If you watch the video, Simon was just goofing off. He didn't try to take her head off or anything. The girl even said that too big a deal was being made out of it.

If she had not fallin down, it would have been on sportscenter as a play of the week. The only reason a big deal is being made is because she fell. The costume is much better than the girl and the tap of the bat just caused her to lose her balance.

Big freakin deal.

After viewing the video, my conclusion is this is a tempest in a teapot. He was just (stupidly) fooling around, clearly didn't intend to hurt the mascot, and is willing to apologize.

Thankfully I moved from Milwaukee before the sausage race (or National League) took hold.
