this is a good thing. i'm just disappointed at the level of mathematics they're requiring. it should be at least trig, IMO.

as for the addition of writing, this is perhaps the best thing that could've happened to the exam. the SAT's mean very little when it comes to how people articulate, and writing shows just how well you can articluate/argue.

As luvly stated

Many times, people score high in SAT but cannot seem to articulate themselves. I witness many students in the department of maths/CS/engineering who could not articulate themselves.

waaay too many of these people can't write. i find it strange that these people can do calculus with ease and write really clean, efficient code, yet write like I did when I was just a freshman in high school.

So? Why the mad face?

its not gonna make a difference. hell by adding algebra 2 to it, it'll make the people who used to do bad on it. DO REALLY BAD
i did pretty well at it. it made up for my being a total slacker and doin gnothing in high school

writing is a totally subjective thing. i dont see how you can fairly grade it and now they are gonna put it on the sat. at least i wont have to do it.

well a lot of colleges , make you take the SAT II writing anwyays, same thing. and yeah its subjective, but the idea is the grammar and your ability to back up an argument, not what your argument actually is.
