A lot less scoring than I would have thought in this one, but a good game overall.

just checked the pickem group, only 1 person took minn. brett looked good, AP wasn't bad, but they are going to need some guys like rice to get back or it's going to be double cover shank and prepare for a long season.

Hartley cost NO takers the spread.

Favre needs to trust Berrian and his other WR more. Shank is going to get blanketed if he keeps on only going to him

Anyone with a brain knew the Saints would win. Favre didn't have enough practice with the new guys, ankle still not 100%, didn't go through training camp, just wasn't prepared.

Vikings lost because they stopped using Peterson in the 2nd half. The passing game was terrible, they should have relied more on Peterson.

It looked like Favre was just a bit out of sync with his receivers at times. I guess missing all those preseason games may have meant something. They'll get more consistent with more games played together.

The Saints offense looked so very up and down, quite spotty.

But as a Packer fan, I have to say I liked the outcome of this game. :)

I think the Saints only looked up and down because the Vikings did a good job shutting down big plays. Every time that it looked like they had a chance to blow up they got their legs caught up. You could even see Bush got pretty upset at one point because of it. Just couldn't shake them.

As a Vikings fan I'm used to watching them snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

I'm not a Viking fan, and even I know that's what they do. It's why I tell Vikings fans to STFU when they say they need a new stadium. You can lose games in any goddamn stadium, don't need anything fancy for that.

I think some of the half time adjustment that the saints defense did was a big part in shutting down the queens in the second half. As far as the saints not scoring as much as we saw last year, Brees did just fine, and had his receivers not dropped 14 points in the endzone the score could have easily been 28-9.

Perhaps there is still some of a superbowl hangover, but I saw nothing last night leads me to believe the saints can't be as good as they were last year.

that's the way its been the past 10 and now 11 openers where the superbowl defender won the opening game of the season

don't get me wrong here, I think the Saints are still one of the best teams, just don't count the chickens before they're hatched like the OP was doing

I just want the vikings fans to stop whining about last season.

AFter reading/seeing/hearing the post game comments, it sounds like they have moved onto wihning about this season already.

Vikings 0-1

That is all that matters.

That game was great to watch for about 10 mins somewhere in the first half.

Other than that Saints just rolled over the Vikings. They should have never even had a temporary lead. I still watched the whole thing though.

Crappy game, missed opportunities for sure. I'm actually happy it was only 14-9 and we moved the ball well at times and I think once Favre gets comfortable with his receivers, things will be a bit better. I thought AP looked good too. Hopefully they will play a stronger game at home against the Dolphins in a week and a bit.

Favre clearly misses Rice and Taylor. Berrian was a complete no-show and Harvin can't carry as a #1. Also Taylor was his favorite 3rd down target. Without him they will have more stalled drives.
