I know this is about as wishful thinking as getting root on a verizon phone but could you imagine if these chips had four complete dies and there was a way to turn a 16 core piece into a 32 core piece?

it seems only early Ryzen batches were affected. Some people got replacement CPUs and they don't show this detect. Threadripper should not be affected as well.
