It may not be their intention, but the loose cannons on the right are doing more to increase the likelihood of gun rights restrictions with their nutjob rantings than anyone at the Brady Campaign could ever dream of.

Here's the first member.

Yeah, he's an idiot and makes us all look bad. Fortunately there are just as many idiots on the other side.

And TN yanked his carry permit for it.

Good. When you start making public lethal threats you should get your permit revoked, and a friendly visit from your local swat team who will explain is blunt detail what will happen should you follow through on such threats.

These far-flung fringe white males are doing everything in their power to disarm themselves. Make them famous, make them double down on their insanity and paranoia. Fear is the key, its what lies in their souls, its their energy source. The mongrels of fear must be brought into the light of society.

Maybe, but they're not threatening to kill people. Can you see the difference?

No, they're just attacking a Constitutional right, using dead children as fuel, because, get this.. they don't like it very much. That's their sole solid reason for promoting what they promote, and they have serious backing. Which is more dangerous? I'd say both are equally retarded.

Yeah, while we're doing that, I hope you don't object to my pointing out the blatant ignorance of those seeking to regulate guns. I've seen more slander, misinformation, and just pure ignorance (I'm talking technical facts you can check with 5 seconds of googling), from the left wing media in the last 3 weeks than I've seen in the last 5 years. It amazes me how they call out Fox News for such practices, and then commit them themselves when their hot-button issues come alone.

Simple fact is most gun grabbers don't know about guns, and they have no desire to educate themselves. Which is part of the reason they're so virulent, they fear what they don't understand.

The other problem is that the legitimate hunter who finds the other side who absolutely has nothing in common with the legitimate hunter because they are terrified about guns and understand nothing about legitimate sports hunting.

Which in itself is bad enough but not hopeless in terms of finding common ground and sensible gun control legislation.

But when NRA type super nuts join the conversation, and advocate unlimited access to weapons useless for legitimate hunting, finding common ground in seasonable gun legislation becomes exponentially more difficult. And when legislators who are terrified against guns and gun violence that are now killing our school children at unappreciated rates, due simply to unlimited access to military style weapons illegal for legitimate sports hunting, no one will listen to legitimate sports hunters like me that oppose the nuts in the NRA. As those in that greatly growing majority that oppose all rational gun ownership will end up banning all guns. Leaving the rational gun owner with no voice or compromise in the all or nothing debate.

As I also point out, in 1930, the NRA led the way in seasonable guns regulation, until total nuts turned the NRA into an idiotic lobbying organization some 30 to 35 years later.

It wasn't that many years ago that the same extreme rhetoric was coming from the left-wing when they were talking about President Bush and Vice-President Cheney. If/when we find those types of charged violent rhetoric can they make a Hall of Fame also?

You do know that the vast majority of NRA members are just normal, everyday Americans right? Even "legitimate hunters", whatever that's supposed to mean. Oh, and you do know that the 2nd Amendment isn't about hunting right? And that hunting rifles are not the only firearms that Americans should be allowed to have. As a matter of fact, if someone can pass whatever background check you want, they should be allowed to have pretty much any gun they WANT to have, yes, including machine guns. You don't have to like them, or see a point in them, and they don't have to be good, or useful for hunting. Your opinion of what guns I want, doesn't mean jack shit, just like my opinion of what you want to watch on TV, or who you want to fuck, or which firearm YOU want for yourself doesn't matter.

Exactly! The anti-gun nut job progressives entire campaign is marketed on FEAR. Fear of scary black rifles, scary high capacity magazines, and all the scary things people that own guns could do.

You sound like the typical Fudd that will toss everyone else under the bus as long as you can keep your break action 12g. Hunting, although I enjoy it, is not a sufficient reason to own a gun logically. Very few people need to hunt, arguably none. The anti gunners LOVE guys like you, because you won't support the other gun owners. Then, once they have the semi autos, and the handguns, and the "high caliber" guns, and the "sniper" rifles, and everything else, then you'll be asked for your shotgun and given the reasoning that had all the other guns banned, you won't have a leg to stand on.
