The riddick game uses the ID Doom 3 engine, right?

If anyone know how to get past the place where you get the minigun, after riding with two of the large cargo elevators/platforms. And two critters keep appearing from a window high above, please tell. It's pretty annoying since it's in a no save zone and I had to go before I could figure out how to get on.

I'm not sure but I think there was a guard in that window. If you let that guard live, he'll fight off the bugs for you. If you're facing the window, I think the door is behind and to the right of you. It's been a while, so I'm sure my memory isn't 100%.

It leads into a similar room where there's two buttons for doors. One open a room into a mech which when killed allow you to get the minigun, the other button seem to do nothing.

The other button should open the door opposite the door to the mech. That door leads to a corridor which leads to a ... if it doesn't lead to a corridor then look for a switch, either way, you want to go in the direction away from the minigun mech. Whether you want to kill the minigun mech is up to you.

Must have been a bug, the other door didn't open when I pushed the button :(, guess I'll try again then :p

Riddick is an awesome game, it doesn't use the doom3 engine, but it's engine is every bit as capable (and has a higher char head poly count, too =P). Not much beats running up to a guard, grabbing their gun and wrist, shoving said gun under their chin and making them blow their own head off =)

it's the Starbreeze Engine

AWEsome game with ONE fault . . .

. . . it's a bit short. :p

I am getting sick of games like this and Splinter Cell where they over do the shiny factor on all the surfaces just because they can. Meh.

It was a pretty good game though, especially being it was based on such a crap film.

it is NOT based on the films . . . it is simply part of the "riddick' story [being set before the films] . . . it generally has a better plot and voice acting then any of the riddick movies.

and it is not generally "shiny" being set in a prison

[be careful if you are offended by "profanity" . . . it is a very "mature" game]

Yea..those Starbreeze folks know what they are doing with the PC. Instead of a sloppy console port they enchanced the game big time and it looks WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better than the Xbox version. Starbreezes other game Enclave is also a very nice looking game..gameplay is simple hack and slash but it looks very nice. I would love to see what Starbreeze has in store for the PC in the future.

After seeing this thread yesterday I fired it back up and was impressed all over again. Great game, and cheap in the bargain bins nowadays.

IMHO, this game has the best production values of any game EVER. The graphics are stunning, the sound is good, and the voice acting is nothing short of astounding--after all, they used actual actors (Vin Diesel, Cole Hauser, Xzibit, etc.).
