The rich will pay more taxes in 2013 no matter what

If it affects me I'll just make up the difference in cash paid side jobs.

Hey it seems to be working out well for Caddilac Escalade on 26's driving foodstamp collecting minorities. I'll do what all the brown people do, I'll keep a crappy day job to officially claim I'm poor and collect handouts and free healthcare while raking in 6 digits on the side at $100/hr off the record in cash doing side jobs on my free time.

At least now I know why I always see minorities on food stamps driving expensive cars and walking around with wads of cash. I had a hunch there was too much of that to label ALL of them drug dealers. Can't beat em, join em.

That reminds me to make sure I don't go over $20k on Ebay next year with one of my new hobbies so I don't get a 1099K.

I've resolved to the fact that I will NOT be affected by politics. Taxes go up, I'll supplement the difference via non taxable means. Something gets banned? I'll CNC my own. Don't care anymore, I'll continue living the life of my choosing as if nothing happened.

So for this individual, gloat all you want. The outcome does not matter. I will get what I want one way or another. Politics are irrelevant.

Why should everyone pay less taxes?

because money taken out of the private sector is, for the most part, wasted by the government. Money left in the private sector is much more likely to grow. Once the government gets it, we are lucky to get 50 cents back on the dollar in some sort of value.

We are already at a 50 year low, yet we keep the most insanely bloated military in the world (50% of the entire world's budget), are still involved in 2 endless occupations of foreign countries, etc. Why should people get tax cuts while we start occupations?

I am with you on the military. Let's level anyone that looks at us the wrong way... rather than occupy and send aid. we don't need a huge military, let's get our ducks in a row at home before we feel the need to occupy other countries

Why should the rich pay less than everyone else?

in terms of actual dollars they pay more than everyone else. the rich foot the majority of the tax revenue collected. If you are talking %, well, that speaks to the complexity of the tax code and should be resolved.

Everyone's taxes should be raised to pay for everything. Don't like it? Next time you should protest when the Republicans want to start another war!

everyone's taxes should not go up. we should have some sort of flat tax setup.... you want to make some argument about how % this or % that will go up/down, again, that speaks to the complexity of the tax code. What is absolutely insane is to say that we need to raise everyone's taxes. the only problem we have is spending. No amount of tax increases will mean nor do a damn thing till that is resolved. Until then, I don't want anyone's taxes to go up.

Back to the same mindless mantra I referenced earlier.

Cut, cut, Cut! as if that'll reverse the decline in living standards wrought upon us by trickledown Capitalism & the relentless concentration of income & power into the hands of a very, very few.

Racist often?

Taxes are a joke. It is all taking cash out of the economy and throwing it in a chopper and pouring a shot to some one else. Companies don't pay taxes. You could up a company tax by %50 they will just pass on the costs by decreasing wages cutting hours or raise prices.

Rich people are a joke you could tax the crap out of them and it wouldn't help a bit.

Obviously not true because when they actually get hit up to pay they leave the country as evidenced by articles all over the news now going on in other countries.

The U.S. is not doing it yet.

You can bet if the U.S. actually taxed the rich like these other countries they would leave the U.S. in a heartbeat.

Most CEO's already have dual citizenship in the event the U.S. ever does do it.

it's the fault of capitalism? please big government loves the low standards of living. They do nothing but give handouts.... just enough to keep them sucking at the tit of government. Raising someone's taxes to give someone a few more bucks in food stamps and providing section 8 housing will really do a lot for these living standards you seem so concerned about.

I will be the first to admit, I don't have the answer/cure, but I can promise you it doesn't start with raising taxes. The problem is very complex and incorporates moral/cultural issues that may be impossible to correct. But you seem to know that raising taxes is going to help the situation? please advise

+1 -> this is what people fail to realize.

The decline in living standards started in the 70's well before trickledown Capitalism. That has been proven to you so many times and yet you still stick the blame there. And the spend, spend, spend of our Government is not lifting our living standards. Gov spending is up over 30% from just 5 years ago and the standards of living are realitively unchanged. Now who is mindless?

That's just it. They will keep raising taxes in the name of justice for the middle and lower clases yet they only give out just enough to keep them sucking at the tit of government. The rest goes right into the Gov machine.

Hopefully the IRS is pinging your IP address now and tracking you down for tax evasion.

I don't think you can post from PMITA Federal prison.

Right just like they hunt down everyone who makes $100 in a yard sale or every kid who makes $80 one weekend babysitting or ....

and the definition of "rich" will get redefined to include everyone. It's not your money..it's obama's. He and is lackeys will decide what your allowance will be with tax codes that will be in a constant state of change.

Good, the fact it pisses you and your lackeys off makes it worthwhile.

I think this means those making 200k and up. Not me so oh well I still have been paying too much taxes on my income anyway as of later this year. Increased Medicare costs so that took a chunk out and a percentage also goes to 401k. Which explains why my company doesn't like to give big raises. Though I feel like I would get more working somewhere else, I enjoy the people and the stability.

Paying less taxes when the government needs more is illogical.

The rich pay less %(which would be the only measurement that matters.. unless you think that it is ok for them to pay 1% just because in dollars they pay "more") because they lobby and control the government to give themselves better treatment.

It is not insane to raise taxes from a 50 year low. It IS insane to CUT taxes when you start two endless occupations...

Do you have a study showing that standards of living havent changed?

Or that they would have stayed stagnant had the government NOT increased spending?

Your trying to make an argument out of selective and nonsensical data points.

Who would expect standards of living to have gone up over the last 5 years?

Laughable.
