I find it hard to believe but it true, the poorer we get the richer he become! His name start with a B and end with an E. For those who don't use computer they haven't a clue and they be like who are you talking about. 🙂 rich is good but to be filthy stinking rich is excessive, it not fair to majority of people who has to bust their butt, hardly have enough to spend and are alway on loan because never enough money to buy houses or new car. I have a dream, now I am poor but I will become rich someday!!! and that is a promise or it be over my dead body! 🙂

how is this not fair? this is what you get when you live in a capitalist society... people make as much money as they can through their own device.

the reason the rich get richer and the poor get poorer is not because of bill gates. how do you think the rich got rich in the first place? how do you think the poor got poor? there are of course, exceptions to every rule, there are plenty of rich people who, if they started out all over again, would end up poor, just as there are poor people who, if given a fair chance, would end up rich, but for the most part, people get what they work for.

keep in mind, when i say work, i don't really mean physical labor, i mean using intellect to get ahead in life.
 
oh come on, this is the best OS I ever used. and 10 years from now you still be using windows and B.Gates wil be at least 10 time richer LOL and I still be poor even if I become rich. a million buck compared to 500 Billion is like 1 penny to 500,000 dollar. also the department of justice want to take down his empire but it just a futile attemp at best. All b.gates had to do was hire a few lawyer or give them a puny 1 million and off they go hehehe.

Lookit - wealth gets created. It isn't as though there's just so much wealth lying around and it somehow gets divvied up.

Also, not to rain on BG's parade, but it's a little simplistic to take his 000s of MSFT and options thereon and multiply it by yesterday's closing price to arrive at a wealth figure. maybe if the vast majority of people WOULDN'T base happiness or contentment on money the world would be a much better place. Since that won't happen anytime soon, i feel sorry for the rest of you. Of course it's nice to have essential things, but there's more to life than making $100k a year. Of course you all already know this. Maybe you're not rich because you haven't tried hard enough.

actually, what is happening in our world, is that the poor are getting richer and having a better standard of living, its just that the richer are getting richer at a faster pace. I don't mind at all.

I disagree...look at any country where money has no value to the citizenry, literally and figuratively, and you'll be glad you live in a country where people worship the greenback.
 
Sometimes hard work is not enough. You need sacrifice, intelligence, and a little luck. you need to take chances, nothing is sure fire. For the most part those that reach gates type wealth had high doses of all four. While you find it unfair that gates is wirth a gazillion dollars, you really should apply tgis energy somewhere else. Also money isn't every thing? Would I like gates wealth? Of Course! Would I risk all I have worked for a slim chance to get it? No I wouldn't. You will someday learn that If you gauge your personal success by comparing to others you will never be happy. Personal sucess is YOUR QUALITY of life. You are the ONLY ONE WHO CAN CHANGE IT. There are ways to get out of your current doldrums, Take chances risk it all, get educated, find what you love to do, and do it. Personal success is much more than just money and personal property. I just bought a house, and while it is realitivly small, and quite a drive to work, It is what I WANTED. Does this make me a failure? Not in the least, I will be providing for my wife and the most important person in my life my son. I could get a job where I make more money but I enjoy my work and it provides me a good living.
