Gross. Pompeo is slime. But honestly I'd rather have him in a more public facing position like SoS than running shady shit at the CIA.

Heard on Morning Joe "People are saying inside the White House" that Mattis, Kelly and Tillerson have a suicide pact, essentially if one of them is asked to resign they all resign.
I'm sure this isn't true but people inside the White House are saying that if one is asked to resign, they all resign. There are really, really smart people in the White House, best smart people.

That would be quite the spectacle. Trump would blame Obama everyone else of course.

Correction it was Mnuchin, not Kelly

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, Defense Secretary Jim Mattis, and Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin reportedly have forged a "suicide pact" in which all three members of President Trump's Cabinet would leave if one of them becomes a target of the president.

I'm still very confused am I supposed to like the guy with a friend of Russia award, the guy who is irritatingly rich with an irritating wife and the guy whose only reason why he's in the White House is because he has a cool nick name?
So confusing

Edit: Hahahahha
People are saying Trump became upset at Tillerson because when he traveled to other countries Tillerson promoted the US but not Trump or the Trump brand equally.

Along with Kelly these appear to be the closest things to adults in this administration. You don't have to like them.

On the other hand, will these adults be instrumental in keeping Trump afloat for the next three years, is that a desireable alternative?

Yes it is. As satisfying as it is to see Trump fail over and over again our country needs competent administration. If the 'price' of having the country run decently is Trump looking better that's a price I'm excited to pay.

They keep things from going to far off the rails. Pence as President would be a real disaster as he would actually be able to implement his agenda with GOP controlled legislative and judicial branches. Trump is ineffectual for the most part in that regard.

I definitely agree with this. Bad enough to have a shit president - having the whole executive branch go down the rabbit holes would just be worse for all us Americans.

Well it is Friday and the reports are that Tillerson made Trump look bad, so I say today is the day. Probably about 3:00.

I got this excerpt from that article:
Trump advisers and allies are floating the idea of replacing Secretary of State Rex Tillerson with CIA Director Mike Pompeo, age 53 — someone who's already around the table in the Situation Room, and could make the switch without chaos.

The without chaos statement made me ROFL when the WH consists of it.

Trump thrives on chaos-he thinks it drives his "ratings" up. This makes Pompeo much less appealing. OTOH Trump can fire Pompeo in the next episode (sorry I'm falling into the Trump mindset).

If he really wants ratings he'll name Ellen Pompeo, not Mike, as the next Secretary of State.

I watched Stephen Colbert's interview Bob Schieffer who's interviewed many sitting presidents since the 60's and he's never seen anything like this either.
