<< He is not politically correct, not at all. That's what I love about him. When he says something, you know he means it... whether insulting the religious or what. >>

Well, duh. That also happens to be one of my favorite characteristics. But, it is also a glaring weakness in the position of President. I didn't say I didn't like him, only that he is not suited for the job.

>>"National Treasures. Believe me, if he thought oil was under half-dome, pictures of it from now on would have an oil derrick on top. "

are you reffering to ANWR? If you are, well hey, I'm an Alaskan and I support drilling in ANWR. The majority of Alaskan's do. Hell, this current administration supports Russia drilling in it's arctic, but wants to close down anwr for drilling? Sounds hypocritical to me. Point is, it's our state we should be able to do with it what we like. To think that the native alaskan's who have been living in the area for millenia wouldn't care about the environment is ubsurd. They support opening anwr, and have succesfully taken big oil to court to make sure they keep the environment in mind.

extra,

If I'm not mistaken, Bush had his widest margin of victory in Alaska. Apparently the vast majority of your neighbors agree with you.

EDIT: Looks like Alaska was third behind Utah and Idaho.

And the three states with the fewest people.

That really isn't my point. When you say "We are going to set aside this area as a national reserve" ... You do it. You don't change the rules just because it's tuesday. When will it stop? That is my point. If you make an exception here, then you set the precedent for all national refuges, and infringements there too. Be they loggin, urban development, or strip-mining. Bush is not an environmentalist. His record in Texas is abyssmal, and deservingly so.

None of you have answered me yet. Why do you defend him? What in him do you see that makes you want to jump on his bandwagon? WHAT? What am I missing that you see in this guy?

The same thing you see in Gore. He's not the other guy.

I cant stand Gore. Did I not make that point clear?

True, Gore doesn't irk me as much as Bush, but will somebody answer my question? What do you see in Bush Bober?

A stuttering boob. But at least he's not the lying rat that Gore is. I voted for Browne, so I can smear both of these rejects.

Bober, I won't disagree with you there.

I guess the difference in perception is that alot of people see only the party, and therefore vote for a party. Often, that is fine. But this time the heads of either party could have scared the sh!t out of medusa. And no way in hell would B/G get my vote, since that would be a sign of confidence in them... something I definitely don't feel.

But, then I classify myself as an environmentalist, and therefore I found myself detesting Bush with probably more passion than any one person should.

That being said, I have resigned myself to let the legal process work itself out, with 90% certainty that Bush will get the nod. I'm not happy about it, but then this is almost a democracy, so if he screws up real bad, I'll just blame all of you :p

Nah, modern amercia votes for a single presidential candidate, not really for a party. Especially women. Irregardles of platform you need a likeable, non-threatening candidate to win at the federal level. Bush is both. Gore bats 500 here. Issues really don't matter. Appearance on that TV set, however, does. :)
