Illinois has elected just one Republican Senator in the last 40 years. You think its just a coincidence that we are about to get another?.. and Obama's old seat nonetheless.

And Fitzgerald only won that Senate seat because Carol Moseley Braun was suspected of fraud or something, something with campaign financing, and trips to Africa. Forget what exactly.

She was going on trips to Africa to countries that we had embargo's against without notifying the State Department.

Even with that scandal, Fitzgerald only won by a couple of points (iirc)
