I have no problem pulling into a gas station to ask. And if I can't get a lick of english out of the clerk, I just happily walk over to where the maps are and I find out for myself. That being said, I usually already have directions printed out or if on a long trip, I have my laptop w/ MS Streets and Trips & GPS unit.
