Haha its just funny to read what a load of crap, o well, maybe they should of ran a game and then said

"well as u see the amd is getting more frames, but our intel machine is producing more quality frames which results in a more quility gaming experiance, and this also allows u to see slideshow images of the game better"

A good read. Why are you guys so derogatory??? It is true, Tom's Hardware confirms it!!! Intel has been better than AMD for, oh, forever. Even their slogans reveal that obvious fact. "Intel Inside." Gee, It's like they can read my mind! I don't want some 64 crap, that probably refers to the latency that you AMD guys are always talking about. So there you have it, Intel kills AMD. What a great, dominating company!!!

Intc is better where it matters most, profits ;) AMD still only leads in what I consider the more esoteric areas. Financial Profits>* in the final analysis.

While i really feel intel is going to come roaring back this year from behind, at this point intel claiming dominance in any real world performance for pc users is just a joke. The only real scenario where intel makes a threat at all is severe multitasking, as in 4+ tasks, at least 2 of which are very cpu intensive.

Even if it takes a bit longer, it certainly seems inevitable to me too.

This propaganda campaign is indicative that AMD is no longer just the metaphorical insect buzzing around Intcs' ear, but now the thorn in the Lions' paw, that they just can't seem to get teeth on to dislodge. My point is that thay have typically been dismissive of AMD in the past, so this is, in my mind at least, evidence that they are forced to at the very minimum, take them much more seriously. Perhaps we are witnessing the start of a similar dynamic to the one ATI&nV have had since ATI became a truly serious threat in not just performance, but also market share?

Jesus how pathetic :(

I thought this is the sort of thing that you'd see only with ATI/nvidia. Guess I was wrong. From what most peoplle were saying, it seems like intel is about to become really good again but seeing these sort of slides surely doesn't really help them.

I disagree. If misinformation/disinformation propaganda campaigns didn't benefit e.g. nV or ATI, do you think they would continue to expend resources on them? Propaganda is a very effective tool of warfare when used properly, and business=warfare.

Hmm, follow the link at the bottom to Story 0 at the inq, then to this...

Ah, the days when AMD chips were significantly more expensive to produce than Intel's yet still sold for significantly less, all while being clocked higher and performing better, mhz per mhz, in just about every way. (depending on the time period, though Socket A Athlons thoroughly ruled P3s and P4s until Northwood came about)
Look at that list though, all high end chips, starting at $95, and topping out at $220. Now Athlon 64s start at like $130 and go up to over $1000, AMD finally broke through the pricing that constrained them all the way from their clone days to Athlon XP.
Not to mention Semprons are considerably more expensive than the Durons of those days, remember when a $40 chip could match a Pentium?

Exactly. Those slides aren't aimed at hardware geeks. They're for sales people to spout at the general public who know nothing about computers. Blindside em with a few long techy words and misleading graphs and you've got a sale. :D

You're right...it does sort of feel like the FX/9000 series era kind of thing. A big slipup...right when a previously ineffective competitor suddenly comes out with a real show of force.

One things for sure...this won't be the last bucket of thick bullsh|t we'll see!

well, were about to get a bunch of Conroe propaganda and benchmarks coming in the next week, so it will be interesting to see how much of it turns out to be informative, and how much turns out to be garbage like this...

jesus. how pathetic. just shows you how much Intel sucks and how low they go. also, everybody probably know this by now, but remember when Intel and Skype made a deal that certain features in Skype 2.0 would only work on computers with Intel CPU's? well, just as i predicted, AMD sued them. just shows you all how low Intel will go...
