I just caught an episode of the latest Real World......my god I couldn't stand watching it for more than a minute. Are people really this stupid? Those two blondes on the show have the collective IQ of a water bottle, are annoying, and not at all hot. I remember the show back in the day, they had some crazy characters but at least they were somewhat interesting and intelligent. These girls are just white trash, fuck they belong on Springer.
 
i think the only people that watch it are:

males/females 13-19

males 40+ that still live in their parents basements
 
I guess one advantage of not owning a TV is not having to worry about siblings/roomates/parents putting on reality TV. When I did live at home, I couldn't stand watching the show for more than half a minute without wanting to kill either myself or the people on the show.

Seriously though, C'mon, who chooses "to live in a loft with xx different strangers" and gets free rent, requires no job, free food, kick ass place all for free?

About as real as a Peanut Butter sandwich for president.

Agreed. When it first aired in the early 90s it was a fairly revolutionary show, way ahead of its time. It's degenerated into run-of-the-mill trash TV.
 
There's no way any of the stuff that happens on it is real. It's just not. There's no way people are that stupid and shallow. I can't believe any of it, otherwise I'd probably become a super villain and try to build a weather machine to wipe out all humans on the planet or something.

People who want to be on TV have grown up watching Springer, and they figure that's how you have to act if you want to get on a reality show.

I don't watch Real World - do the people have jobs?
 
i started watching real world back to new york, i liked that season and continued watching until austin, that was when i stopped. it got worse afterwards.
 
Its turned into a bad porno except they block out the nudity. They cast rediculously good looking girls and put them in a house full of horny dudes. Everyone on the show has an over inflated ego and extreme narcissitic personality(at least the girls do). This makes for some entertaining drama. Its funny to watch and laugh at the stupid drunk hoooas. They run around and fvck everyone. When they aren't fvcking they are talking about themselves or crying. Then they wonder why they can't keep a man.
 
They should have one where people have to hold down jobs and pay rent and such. Watch a different dynamic when people come home tired after an 8 hour day instead of sitting around bored as hell.

I had to go to a Barnes & Noble by my house to use the internet because the internet access at my house was down and I needed to pay some bills online. Anyways, while sitting there paying the bills, a gaggle of high schoolers were talking about the reality show, America's Next Top Model. Now I don't expect high schoolers to have intelligent, well-thought out discussions on important topical issues. However, listening to this conversation loaded with "like", "OMG", "totally", and other overused teenage lines in a conversation about "bitchy" models was enough to make my brain explode. I couldn't get out of B&N fast enough.

Thats the reason I love that show. I don't watch it religiously though. I watch maybe 1 hr of tv a week. But I usually get really bored when I visit my parents, so I mostly watch it then.

I remember a few years back when they announced one of the producers of the show died (cancer or something like that)... you can tell a big difference since then.
