Yes but unlike F- @ posting about daily life in X country, I have actual photographs from said location.

That little girl in the 3rd picture's gonna get drown and hanged for not covering her head. Some fucked up country that is.

Damnit, someone look at my pictures. I spent 85 seconds linking them.

Where are the hookers?

Nawh, little girls don't cover themselves. Not sure what age they start.

That looks pretty cool, I like the one at the bottom with the MG and the valley you're in. It must be so intimidating looking at those mountains and thinking "the enemy is hiding in there."

Yeah, I went to a lot of interesting places way up in the mountains. I was on the Pakistan border several times. Middle of fucking nowhere though which could be both bad or good.

One place we went, my platoon was the first uniformed convoy to travel since the Russians. There were burned out tanks all along the path, kinda freaky. Not to mention that the road was carved out of a mountain and about 12-15 feet wide with a several hundred foot drop.

OMG U slackers, in that second set of pics u linked Osama can clearly be seen having a picnic on the ridge. You were on the gun too, WHY didn't you take him out???????

Did you ever get ambushed??

Hah, we used to go down one road about 5-6 times a week. There was a T intersection and we'd either turn left to go to 1 of 20 places or we'd turn right and go to 1 of another 20 places.

Well, we made a right, and were sitting in a police compound helping with some training and got a report that there were a whole bunch of bad guys that had been sitting in a wadi if we had gone left.

Afghani Special forces got sent in and cleaned it up.

My company had a team that got ambushed real bad by like a thousand guys. 2 guys got shot, but luckily were both ok. A-10's came in and blew the living crap out of some taliban.

But yeah, my 22 total months spent in Iraq and Afghanistan were fairly uneventful. I went to dozens of places where US soldiers had died the day before or were killed the day after, but nothing happened to me.

We found mines a few times set up to take out one of our trucks, I had a close call with some aerial rockets, and my convoy got shot at a whopping one time.

Damn, that sounds pretty eventful to me, heh. Were you a grunt or part of a mechanized company?

Military Police.. I've had all sorts of missions.

Routine route patrols, political escorts, convoys, flying with detainees, etc, etc. Hopefully in about 2-3 weeks I'll start the paperwork for joining ROTC for my last 2 years in college. I miss being in so much.

cool pics to both of you. That "daily life" pic is pretty striking. It's almost like a national geographic pic w/o any contrast filters, etc..
