We finally decided to stop tending our 1/2 acre garden this year because it was so much work. We just roto-tilled it under and will let grass take it. We love strawberries and they just wouldn't grow in there, so we had some in a pot out by our front border.

The strawberries in that pot somehow managed to jump into the border, and now our entire border is filled with strawberries.

My wife is furious, but I like walking out the front door to go to work and picking a few each day. Yum.

They are fucking expensive thats what. Just got back from the grocery store, $3 for a tiny little plastic bin of them. Hell if you want organic it's usually $4-5

I caught some earlier this year for $1 that they were trying to quickly move inventory for... outside of that, I just can't justify buying them. Love them. They are totally my favorite berry, but I just can't justify it.

Strawberries and blueberries are usually semi-better priced.

Currently in the process of making an outside garden. I have a mango tree that has been doing pretty damn well for the weather I get here in Texas.

I'm not sure if raspberries can survive out here?

Mine aren't in yet. Cherries have been and gone; same with the mulberries. The mulberries tasted especially good this year. The flavor was richer. Blueberries came in last week. It'll be another week for the raspberries, and 2-3 for the blackberries.

I'm not sure if raspberries can survive out here?

Not sure what zone you're in but nowadays they have so many engineered cultivars that you can grow virtually anything, anywhere.

I don't think that we're due for a new model for another year or so. They just refreshed it with the Model 2 this year.
