The purpose of this thread is to ask users if they know if time is continuous or if it advances in discrete steps.

Does time advance in discrete steps or is it continuous? Anyone know?

I think there's some sort of consensus that there are discreet steps.

Has Planck been debunked?

Of course time is continuous.

For clarification:

Time itself is continuous within the boundary of the big bang to the end of the universe.

I would say the act of measuring time leads to discrete figures, though, you can assume continuity in your measurements if the discrete figures are close enough together

depends on your instrument. If you 'ave Rolex, it's continous. If you 'ave Casio, it's discrete.

I'm not talking about the instruments used to measure time. I don't know if the posts about wristwatches are meant to be jokes.

I am talking about time itself. In a physical sense. Is there a "smallest unit of time"?

Your asking if there is an equizalent of quantamechanics for time.
There should be no energy state to time so that quantamechanics should not govern it, but there may be some other concepts that I am not aware of.

Someone mentioned Planck. What was his theory?
