Where are the ATF and FBI from Ruby Ridge and Waco when we need them?

Sometimes you just gotta go in and blow shit up.

Threatening emails telling voters to vote for Trump target Brevard County residents

Voters across Brevard County Tuesday afternoon received threatening emails purporting to come from the Proud Boys, a far-right group that espouses militant authoritarian ideology, telling them to vote for President Trump, or else.

The emails appear to follow a similar format, and come from the email address "info@officialproudboys.com."

"Hi (name) We are in possession of all your information You are currently registered as a Democrat and we know this because we have gained access into the entire voting infrastructure. You will vote for Trump on Election Day or we will come after you. Change your party affiliation to Republican to let us know you received our message and will comply. We will know which candidate you voted for. I would take this seriously if I were you. (Voter's address)," it read.

Donald Schwinn, 85, a snowbird registered to vote in Melbourne Beach, received one, telling FLORIDA TODAY "they're trying to scare people into voting for Trump."

"I don’t believe they have the resources to do this sort of thing," he continued, adding: "It makes me ashamed to be an American to think that such a group would do such a thing: threaten voters."

Voter intimidation is a federal offense subject to up to one year imprisonment.

Voter email addresses and physical addresses are generally public records available upon request.

The domain for the sender's email "officialproudboys.com" was inactive by Tuesday afternoon although the site does appear to have been previously affiliated with the Proud Boys group. According to WUFT, internet records show that control over the internet address, created in March 2017, was changed Monday night.

Local officials are scrambling to get on top of the situation as reports came in Tuesday afternoon. Emails shared with FLORIDA TODAY show they went out between 3pm and 4pm.

Kimberly Boelzner, spokesperson for Brevard Supervisor of Elections Lori Scott, said their office has received several reports of such emails and are awaiting guidance from the state division of elections.

"We're advising voters to report it to local law enforcement," she said.

This is crazy, but I have a feeling the e-mail address spoofed. Or the inbreds really are stupider than I thought.

I wonder if the voter rolls are easily available for download, or if they would've had to do a FOIA request or purchase a list. If so it might be a bit easier to track down.

I'm not "carrying" it, but my weapon will be in my car when I go to vote.

I pity the fool that dares get in my face.
I already voted by mail, but otherwise I would carry, as I have in the past, when I vote. My polling place is not in a gun free zone such as a school, thus perfectly legal. Besides concealed is concealed.

Are you people for real? you are scared to vote? you are thinking someone is going to know how you vote when you vote? how does a police officer with a trump mask intimidate you to vote for trump? what am i missing? im all for carrying guns, but you are going to do what. shoot someone that is holding a trump sign? no one is going to beat you and force your hand to vote a certain way calm down. I would think this is actually not the proud boys why would they want to incriminate themselves. sounds like bs

An agent of the state, who has the authority to use lethal force, is showing support for a candidate who is actively trying to delegitimize the voting process. It's not hard to see how people would feel intimidated.

Sadly that will intimidate some people, not so much as who they vote for, but to leave without voting.

On, please, let's be real, folks. Did anyone actually think that cop was going to shoot them if they didn't vote Trump? How fucking stupid.

That doesn't make it any less of a crime or unethical to do ANY form of campaigning inside or near a polling place. Especially by a law enforcement officer representing the state. Wearing that mask was very inappropriate and illegal, just don't act like he was holding a gun to voters heads or you start to sound like nut and weaken the argument against what he actually did. Which was bad enough all by itself.

Just because you are carrying a gun doesn't mean you are scared or will shoot folks for waving the wrong political sign. I will likely carry concealed when I go to vote in person. Not because I think I will need it, but because I often carry when out and about and my polling place isn't a gun free zone.

Plus, I'm tired of folks thinking lawful carry is somehow offensive or disturbing, or folks thinking they have the right to be offended or confront citizens over the lawful carrying of a firearm. I'm not going to bow to the pressure and carry less because it offends some folks. Luckily, that's not the attitude in the state where I live. And I carry concealed, anyway, so I don't run into any of those problems. If I did happen to print, nobody around here would bat an eyelash.
