This officer should be commended for his ethics when dealing with citizens. There are a many officers out there that could learn a lot from him. I would be proud to have him as an officer in my state.

Can't argue with that. It's a shame that cops have to deal with people like this.

See, this is pretty much the lowest amount of belligerence needed to use a tazer. The cop definitely had the right to use the tazer in this situation.

It's too bad more cops aren't patient like this one was. He asked multiple times, and then tried to restrain him with his hands. Only after that should you even THINK about using the tazer.

Taze first, then let the EMT's sort out the survivors? SOP as practiced, who goes by procedure?

Can't they just reduce the setting on the things? Like in Star Trek..."Phazers set to stun!" :D
