The problem with insanely large Caches

So, like many people, I use a WD Green Drive, which is a very awesome drive since for the most part, it just sits there, barely powered on and not spinning.

But I have my music on there and on occassion, my Itunes would stop, because it's playing an album on the Green drive and just ran out of the memory buffer. Since it's has 64mb of cache, it seemingly will put nearly an entire album on it, and then spin down.

Anyone else experience this?

yeah that's not a problem with large cache, that is an issue with the OS spinning down your HDD after extended period of being idle...your "experience" of the issue would be the same whether you had 64MB or 1MB of cache...in all cases when the HDD needs to be spun-up you are going to sit there and wait a bit.
