I hope these guys (along with the Che Guevara admirers) in the pro-Illegal crowd continue with their open display and contempt of this nation and its laws as they plead their case. They truly are doing a wonderful job at pissing off the American people (along with legal immigrants) who value our laws and love our nation.

(07-30) 21:18 PDT New York (AP) --

Two men carrying Mexican flags ran into the outfield during the seventh inning of the New York Mets' game against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday night at Citi Field.

The men were apprehended by security fairly quickly without much incident.

Before the game, about 40 demonstrators across the street from the ballpark protested Arizona's immigration law, chanting "Oppose racism!" and "Boycott Arizona!"

Others stationed closer to the subway exit handed out leaflets that requested Major League Baseball move next year's All-Star game out of Phoenix.

"It's not going to distract me. I'm here to play baseball," Diamondbacks interim manager Kirk Gibson said after his team's 9-6 victory over the Mets. "You have an opinion, I have an opinion. They have the right to say what they want, but it's no distraction."

interesting. so some Hispanic running with a flag is shameful but a fleet of repugs voting to deny benefits to responders at ground 0 is ok.

I doubt he made it up (unless he coined it first a long long time ago). Employers (and their investors) who want cheap labor have been called that for decades. But it has not been a title anyone has been proud to call their own until just the last several weeks.

I still don't get the whole Mexican flag thing. If you came to America because it was so much better than the shithole you are from, why do you insist on acting like this is Mexico. I am cool with seasonal/local ethnic pride (irish, polish, mexican etc...), but at the end of the day those folks fly an American flag at home. The problem with the immigration supporters is that they really seem to think that they are taking the Southwest back over in the name of Mexico. This is really the one thing about this whole mess that bothers the hell out of me. If you want to come here to work, play, whatever, cool, but realise you are a guest and don't push your BS third world nationality on us.

Maybe some of them still think it is 1847, and the invasión estadounidense de México (American Invasion of Mexico) is still ongoing. They do not call it the Mexican American War down there.

Sorry sir, I disagree. There is indeed a very strong Pro-illegal crowd in this country, and they come together for different reasons.
You gotta look around your country a little more. Read a newspaper every day. There is almost always a discussion of immigration or illegal immigration. Or both.

Great post, I think most illegals come here to get a job, not to become citizens. Their loyalties and allegiance is with Mexico. Flying the mexican flag?? what an ass thing to do.

The funny thing about these nationalists. Once they do manage to take over the southwest and turn it into northern Mexico. They will promptly leave for the United States.

I totally agree, they aren't going to gain any sympathy from the American public doing so.

The opposite side has been called "Anti-immigrant" since the start of this whole debate (among other things... racists, bigots, xenophobes, etc.).

I'd say that most arguments made these days are based on this in fact... "American was built on immigrants, you are anti-immigrant", or "You're just anti-Mexican"... it might start off as an argument about illegal immigration, but since it's so hard to find a case *for* illegal immigration, it always boils down to name calling and characterization of a position.

Never understood how people have pride in dumb luck. It's not like you had a choice in where you or your ancestors are from.

Black/White/Mexican/Irish pride? Congrats on that "accomplishment" you had zero involvement "achieving". I'm Irish and I'm proud that I CHOOSE to continue to call the US my home (and VERY happy to help further the stereotype of the drunk Irish), not much of an accomplishment but at least it's a conscious decision :)

I am curious, what are the codes and statures for the treatment of the Mexican flag? It looks like he likely dropped the Mexican flag on the field.

You are either with them or agin them. But you definitely can not question xenophobia.

Sorry, this is one of those that either you want to accept illegal immigration or don't. Is there an inbetween?

I wasn't aware that an alt definition of Xenophobia was "To want people to stop committing crimes".

I've said here many times that I think all the illegals should be deported. I've talked to others about the problem and never heard anyone express the view that they feel the immigration laws should be ignored.

While I can respect the opinions of people that argue for changes with the laws (even if I disagree with them on various points), the OP calling them "Pro-Illegal Immigration" is just an attempt to collectively demonize all those who do not agree with his views. Such attempts always take something away from any rational discussion.

So what is the rational discussion you speak of in regards to the issue?

I've been involved in completely rational, non-emotional discussions on elements and solutions such as the following: size and scope of the problem, underlying causes, possible solutions, whether every aspect of the problem is a negative, cost of status quo vs cost of solutions, born on American soil = citizenship, access to benefits, etc..

While we as a country will likely never reach a consensus on every aspect of the issue, we are far more likely to develop a way forward that is superior to the status quo if we leave emotion out of the discussion and drop the idea that those with opposing solutions are somehow "bad guys".

The terms that we use quickly set the tenor of any discussion. If anyone doesn't realize that, look at a classic modern example. Coining the term "pro-life" was meant to imply that anyone not in favor of banning abortion must be the opposite or "pro-death" and anybody that was "pro-death" was obviously a "bad guy".

I am anti-criminal. Apparently according to some folks that makes you a racist, bigot, xenophobe, hater, etc etc. Is it too much to ask that the damn laws in place actually get enforced?

Hopefully they arrested the idiots causing the disruption and shipped his ass of to whatever hellhole he came from.

Codes and statures? They don't need no stinkin' codes and statures!
