There is a US unlocked and an international unlocked Moto G on the Motorola website.

If you are in the US get the US unlocked.

If you buy it from ATT, Cricket, etc it will be locked to ATT.

The phones are the same. If the price is the same, get the unlocked. Also there is an LTE Moto G now.
