well i must say that i think the most beautiful Porsches are indeed the 911 Carrera, Carrera 2, and Carrera 4, but at the same time i still think that the 911 Turbo is beautifully sculpted machine. i would never go so far as to say its an ugly POS, but lets face it, the front end of the turbo is a bit busier than the Carrera, with hugh air intakes on both sides to cool those giant break discs. now the GT2 is another story. that car IS ugly. i never thought Porsche would @#$! up the look of the 911. they sure as hell surprised me with this one. i must agree with Zenmervolt in that it is not truly "riced" out, b/c those air intakes and spoiler certainly serve a purpose on a Porsche. but i must say, i've never seen a German car look so...well...Japanese. oh well, its Porsche...they'll redeem themselves in the future.

How fscking unexpected, that site doesnt work in Opera, Mozilla 0.6 or Netscape 4.76, thank you very much Micro$hit for following W3C standards.
Exactly the reason why I would rather use Mosaic than IE.

From me to Microsoft, a big fsck you.

As for the car I think it looks good, the front could use some work, but overall not bad.
Not as nice as a GT3 though 🙂

<< I guess that makes it rice pilaf? >>

Nope that's originally from Africa and since there are not that many car manufacturers in the area you most likely will never see one. 😉

Grrrrrrrrrrr.... They pushed the debut of the 2002 Ram back till the February Chicago show. Too much going on at this show.

Do you guys know what "rice" cars even are? 911 and GT series Porsches don't exactly fit into the "rice" category. The only Porsches that I can think of that could be "riced" (i.e. crappy car made to look high-performance by way of decals, lights and expensive but pointless body modifications) are the 914s. Those were pieces of crap...

That front end and ugly rear spoiler are DEFINITELY "Uncle Bens" 😛

Porsche used extreme bodywork well before anyone spent money to modify Hondas and Toyotas. To say the GT2 looks "riced" is pretty backwards because the GT2 is a race car unlike the 4 cylinder imports that buzz around with coffeecan muffler tips and cheap plastic bodywork. At least the modifications Porsche made to the GT2 are functional, if not pretty. Same deal if you compare the Ruf CTR2 to the CTR2 Sport. The latter is uglier and faster. 🙂
I'm surprised no one has mentioned the realdeparture that Porsche made with the Carrera GT from the 911 cars- the adoption of a V10 instead of a Flat6.
atx

the reason nobody has mentioned it is b/c the topic is about the 911 GT2 being ugly, not how the Carrera GT utilizes a V10 instead of the traditional flat opposed 6. and as far as the Carrera GT goes, it is radically different than Porsche's other models, but by no means is it ugly. i suspect the performance to be close to that of the Diablo 6.0. they say it will do 0-60 in under 4 sec.
