I found this to be an interesting political and social spectrum indicator that is more than just a simple left/right or liberal/conservative label. I think a lot of people in this particular forum would be curious about where they fall on it.

The test show results in a 2D graph where the 'left' is communism (collectivism), 'right' is Neo-liberalism (Libertarianism), 'top' is authoritarian (fascism), and 'bottom' is libertarian (anarchism). The horizontal scale is economic views and the vertical is social views. In this test, communism is an entirely state controlled economy where as neo-liberalism is extreme deregulated economy.

My results are here: http://screencast.com/t/RMfBSeMgIH

The candidates of the US Presidential Election of 2008 are here: http://www.politicalcompass.org/uselection2008

The chart with the primaries surprised me by how close they all were, the short distances between most of them, and what that reflects about America.

Try it, you might be surprised or pleasantly reinforced

While many on this forum would think I'm an ultra-right wing intolerant conservative bigot, truthfully answering all the questions I'm just about as middle of the road as it gets:

Doesn't it say something of our political system when all four candidates on the presidential tickets are in the same quadrant? But really, there is something very wrong with the test if Obama & Biden are placed to the right of me on economic issues.
