The points on FAH...just wrong - glad they are fixing them

Except for the fact I've only crunched 40 wu's, and he's crunched 500+ wu's

here is a copy/paste:

Rank:184
Name:Tr3s_Lunas
Score:1707.56
WU:506

Rank:185
Name:yelo33
Score:1705.47
WU:40

is this right? 8x-9x the wu's, but almost exactly the same score? Could anybody please explain what's going on

Thanks!

You've done fewer work units, but they've required more CPU time. Thus, you have a higher score, and rightfully so.

What's being fixed, as I understand it, is a discrepancy between amount of work required per score unit for Tinker vs. Gromacs WUs (WUs that use different core software for processing).

Hi yelo333
Tr3s_Lunas has not sent results since 2002-12-29. Things must have been different back then. Smaller WUs - a guess. I think I read somewhere that a faster computer gets the larger WUs worth more points per WU, but it takes longer to finish. I see I have even fewer WUs than you, 28WU = 1729.99 points. I run a console and a GUI version on a HT P4 3.0C @ 3.3 and a GUI on a P3 1.0 Ghz laptop (also a couple WU on sisters comp so far) Is my main cruncher faster than yours? If so it would support this idea. I have gotten mostly 400 frame Tinkers worth ~70 points. I don't use the -advmethods switch.
I don't think I will run F@H on the laptop much this summer and will probably have to turn down the overclock on main cruncher when temps get higher (no AC in the house!)
I think the new changes will help.
See ya later!

This house has a window AC, but it's on the other end from where the computers are, so I'm afraid that I may be in the same boat this summer. 🙁

1.9GHz is stable right now, but who knows what will happen when the temps increase this summer?
