The PM system on this board really sucks

I recently started using pms a lot more since I got active in FS/T and I have begun to notice that it really sucks. Any thoughts on this?
 
perhaps being more vague could be more helpful. 😉 What is the problems you are having?

Works fine enough for me, if I need more power I take it to email.

Take a little midol, I hear that works. 😉

I've never had a problem with the PM system in FuseTalk, although I don't visit the FS/T forum either. It lets you communitcate with other members privately, which is really all it was designed for. What issues are you running in to specifically?

I wish that there were a "Reply with auto-quote" feature, much like the difference between "Reply" and "Quote" at the bottom of normal forum posts. (Personally I think that there should be a one-click "Nef" button too, for all of you ATOT "lifers" out there.. but that's another thread topic entirely, isn't it? 🙂 )
 
What ever happened to the ability to look at users profile when reading a pm they sent to you... Why is it only there when you reply?
 
okay sorry I wasn't more specific. Its hard for me to describe what the problem is but I will try
It is hard to tell what all the mesages are in your inbox because when you click on one it takes you to an identical looking page with that message at the top and all the messages sent before it in the conversation. having a quote system would make it a lot easier to tell what people are saying. without this it is hard to tell what people are referring to in their pms.

That is easy, clicking on the person's name on the left will open up your entire conversation with them. The FIRST pm between the 2 of you will be at the bottom and the last will be at the top. It is in order from oldest to most recent based on the time each was sent/received.
 
I don't like the fact that you have to change the status to read even though you've viewed a pm and replied to it.

That's what I don't like...

It depends on what you click on. If you go to the Private Message window first, then click on the username, thus displaying the entire "thread" of messages, including the new one, the new message is still marked unread. You need to click on the "Read" icon to have it marked "read" by the system.
