Hello.

in the past someone had asked me that they wanted to see what this sounded like in lossess but I did not have a copy of it in lossless.

I bought about 20cds months and finally got a chance to rip some of them, which include Holst's Jupiter....needless to say it is FANTASTIC:D

PM me or just respond. The file is 40MB though

EDIT:

ell, I'm not one to dissapoint c.m. fans so here it goes:

Which recording is this?

I have the Chicago Symphony Orchestra recording from the Deutche Grammophon label (it has DaVinci's human figure on the CD cover)...best recording I've ever heard of The Planets.

I went to Jupiter High School, and in our marching band we would play this in the stands. It was pretty sweet, especially playing the Mellophone (french horn equivalent somewhat). I was the only person who didn't use a damn french horn mouthpiece with a converter... those pussies. That is all.

One of the best collections ever written, but it really does vary from recording to recording...Levine and the CSO was a good one, but I really like Karajan and the Vienna Phil, among others.

Can't wait for a really good recording to release on SACD.

Well, I'm not one to dissapoint c.m. fans so here it goes:

Holst's Masterpieces:

Jupiter

Uranus

March

Mars

All in lossless of course (wma) :D YOu can use dBpoweramp to convert them into what you wish. They are on the Telarc, Denon/SLG, and Deutsche Grammophon labels. I encourage you to check them out. I had just bought tons of Denon and Telarc Albums when i ripped these...

Enjoy!

I highly doubt it...just the first time that you've listened to it as "The Planets"

If you've seen Gladiator...you've heard it. (That movie, among others)

The Cavaliers (Drum Corps International, professional marching band if you would) did an EXCELLENT rendition of this for their 1995 show.

I have the video on my computer, would be interested in hosting but I have no host or FTP... If you want to see it, PM me and maybe we can work together somehow...
