The plan:
Yesterday my plan was to go out to the eye doctor and get my checkup and order some new contacts. Then when I got back I was going to change the oil in both my cars and wash my Probe. Then, if I had some time left, I'd play some computer games before bed.
The actuality:
Went to the doctor and got my contacts. 3/4 of the way home I smell somethin funny and look at the gages in the Probe and see my temp is pegged. So, I pull into the nearest gas station and check it out. Upper radiator hose is hot, lower hose is cold....probably the thermostat. So I call my dad he comes and takes me back to my house. I get my truck and tools and go get parts. Get back to the gas station and tear into the car. I have to take out the whole air-dam and air handling box to get to the freakin' thermostat. I get the radiator drained and the old thermostat out and notice that it has a plastic gasket around it that the new thermostat doesn't have. So I go back to Autozone and they don't have the gasket. I try NAPA and of course they're closed by then. So to get it to work I have to break the gasket on the old thermostat the put it on the new one. Get it installed and everything buttoned up and new coolant in. I go home to have my wife take me back so we can get the cars back home and she's too sick to help. So I have to get my dad to drop me off on his way to work. I get the car home, have time to cleanup and get some dinner and then go to bed. 🙁
