3.14159. That's enough to get pretty accurate results unless you're doing something extremely precise.

Crap.. it is.. you should've extended the poll to have 1 more option because that's as far as I know =)

I think something like 10 digits is enough to insure 1 micron accuracy when calculating the circumference of the universe.

That... doesn't sound right.

I like to use my 'astronomer's approximation': pi ~= 1

Nice and easy to do mental arithmetic, and the answers are of the correct order of magnitude.

I know it as 3.1415927. I was always told that if the number after is 5 or up you round up, so that's where I get the 7 from. Was everybody else not taught this way?

I don't know...but can you put two more results in the poll...one with 2 digits and one with one at the top so that the pole makes a really pretty pi-angle?

One time long ago, I hit the pi function in the windows calculator, and memorized it. It's only to 30 or so decimal places, though. In 9th grade, I memorized pi to 250 or so decimal places, but I've since forgotten all that. I still do remember it to the ~30 decimal places from the Windows calculator, though.

I put 3.14159265358.

Except on my graphing calc it lists it as 3.14159265359 (graphing calc rounds the last digit).

Something tells me you should also have a poll option "I know what the symbol looks like".
