The Phantom Flusher stats thread.

Russ

Lifer
He hit again. Looking at the numbers, it appears that this is not a case of save and flush. This guy has a gigantic herd to be able to donate this many blocks to this many people every day.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm VERY curious to get an idea of just what his daily production is. So, how about an accounting? If you've been getting some, post the estimated amount here, and let's add it up.🙂

Total Blocks additional on DNET since 6-2-00 = 177,758

Up through the 5th could just be a difference in flushing times, but starting on the 6th there is definitely someone cracking blocks for me on D.NET.

I would hope that if it was D.NET distributing the trojaned blocks from Nugget, they would spread it across more evenly than this. Why should I benefit so much when others could use the help even more than I? I still think it is DPC, or a trojaned client (ie Rabbit).

If it is DPC, I hope that they will spread the wealth to others on the team, maybe some of the people with small herds to give them a big boost. The mystery continues.......

Jonb got some to 20,000 blocks I think....to lazy right now to get exact number. I wish this guy/girl could give me some of those blocks. I hope I don't sound to greedy. I don't know about anyone else but it seems as if its the same people over and over?

So far, that's over 54,000 blocks a day including just three of the lucky recipients. Whoever this (or they) is, they've got some monster hardware.

Russ-
I'll edit my previous response, but these seem to be people that are benefiting from P.F. errr Ph.F. (that works)

Why don't you edit a tally in your first post

It must be the ghost of Mander! :Q :Q :Q

The poltercow has struck... WoooOOooOooO MoooOOoOOOoo!

Looking at the huge amount of blocks donated this guy has a either a couple of douzen fast computers or 100 or 200 average ones. Since it is an enormous task to change the email-adresses of all those computers just to donate some blocks, I am afraid this guy may not be cracking out of the good of his hart. Maybe you should start worrying about another trojan planting lamo like the one still bugging Nugget.
The typically rising numbers like viztech posted
16th 9387
17th 15,325
18th 18,073
indicate a small trojan (or hack) campaign.

Dutchman-
I went back in the stats and found that it started on the 15th, with 1309 extra blocks.
JHutch indicated in the original thread that his had been coming for several days.

I'm starting to get worried now...Naaa it's gotta be Crimson.

viz

edit-
Looking at the history graphs for the above people, it looks as though it started slowly on the 15th, grew a bunch on the 16th, grew only a little bit more on the 17th and 18th. It's quite consistant between all of us.
I will really be interested to see what happens for Monday.

If it's for the good of the team it's Ok,

...but it ain't fair. I'm working my butt out to try to climb the hill and them someone gives 3/4 days of cracking to some major rivals that are running to the same milestone.... Not fair....

Oh well,...

I think if it was dnet spreading the trojan's, than Nuggets production would have dropped. Near as I can tell, it hasn't. I've got a hunch what's going on here, but I need a few more days of totals before I'm willing to offer the hypothesis.

Russ, NCNE

Yeah, I'm getting a little worried about where these blocks are coming from. I'm getting between 18-20K a day now!

Updated my original post in this thread with more #s ^

Xede poltercow...ROFL!!! 😀

StormGiant, I agree, it isn't fair, but we don't have any control over it. I was in a close race with KingHam to 750K, and working on overtaking Jay, when this happened. Even though it's been cool to see me really high in the stats and overtake Jay 😉, it has totally messed up the race with KingHam, which I really enjoy being involved in, as we've been racing each other since 100K. 🙁

Russ, it will be interesting to hear your theories on this.

Ray.

Ray,

You already mentioned my theory in your post above. I think it's the DPC's. They're total team production appears to have dropped approximately the same amount that is showing up as gift blocks. This would also explain why these particular people were chosen.

The recipients appear to be those that are very active here in the DC forum. Since we know the DPC's hang out here, it stands to reason that they would cull their contribution list by reading the posts.

Russ, NCNE

I think it's the feds, or maybe /. or the russians, or or or...
I can assure U that DPC has noting 2 do with this, because we don't get any credit 4 it, and as you know, we do EVERYTHING 4 publicity. This is no publicity for us, y would some members of our team sneak blocks into TA???
Exactly...

I don't know Ray.
Several DPCs that are in the know have denied anything to do with it.
The next question is why the 9 of us.

It's scary to get singled out.

viz

The only thing that I can say with certainty, is that it is not a coordinated campaign of DPC.
It is of course always possible that some individual members are flushing for you, but I don't see how they could have managed to arrange that without me noticing it. 😉

I really think you should try to find the solution elsewhere...

Whomever it is they are helping us to pass EvangeLista.

12 days left in this month and 12.8 Million blocks differential... 🙂

Go Team AnandTech!

As a member of the DPC-crew I can guarantee you it's nothing we know about, we flush less blocks because we save for another MegaFlush (like you already know!)
If you take our current daily rate + MegaFlush savings we have about the same amount as the weeks before.
Don't forget we had many days off from work lately, that negatively influences the amount of wu's we produce per day.
So you have my personal guarantee.
