I might as well sell my coffee maker... Tim Horton's is like crack :/

No man...what you need is good whole beans and a grinder. Grind it yourself. I've never had restaurant coffee that is anywhere close to what I make.
Link to your grinder? 🙂

Linky

i usually just drink the flavia shit at work. it's all right, though i drink tea mostly.

I wasn't much of a coffee drinker until recently (I usually just drink coffee around finals, and normally drink green or white tea as my hot beverage of choice), but yesterday I got my order for Green Mountain's Pumpkin Spice coffee and set my coffee maker to 6AM. When I woke up, the aroma of the coffee had spread around the house. I usually like my coffee black, but I decided today to add 2 teaspoons of sugar since it's flavored coffee. It was pretty good, but I'm no connaisseur.

I never put sugar in my coffee. I put some flavored creamer, and that's it. I put Irish Cream with this Colombian stuff that I've been brewing and it mixes well.

Flavored coffee like that often needs sugar, in my experience.

I had an old boss who roasted his own beans in a hot air popcorn maker. That stuff tasted insanely good.

i used to do that too, but i can't do that in the dorm environment. that, coupled with my rancilio commercial grinder, makes some pretty tasty espresso, and out of a cheapo hamilton beach machine no less (best machine under $100, i guarantee that. above that, and it's put to shame by units with brass boilers and what not)

I don't mind coffee(generally tastes pretty good) but I rarely drink it. I do hate how I can smell it on my breath for hours afterwards though..ugh

I don't know what's funnier: the fact that this is a valid argument, or that the first thing in his sig is a link to Support PETA!

You ever click that link?

If you had the "same measurements and everything", then it would come out the same everyday 😀 I can make coffee that tastes the same everyday. Espresso is another story.

If you're doing everything the same and still getting variance, then it's probably the equipment. If you're using a machine, then it probably can't keep a consistent temperature. There's not much else to it.

Hah I agree. It's either something about how the taste buds in the mouth, or that the coffee maker is just not heating up the water enough before it grows through the filter.
