Geforce 4ti4400
Stock: 275/275
Currently: 300/325
Core % overclock: 10%
Memory % overclock: 18%

I had it running at 315/750 up until about 2 months ago (I've had it for a year and a half), then my games began crashing, so I backed it down to ti4600 speeds and it runs perfectly.
Core % overclock previously: 15%
Memory % overclock previously: 36%

I jst removed my SFII that ran at just a tad under 6K RPM and pushed out 60dB+, by comparison my rig seems very quiet by comparison.
We obviously have different ideas on what is quiet. 60 dB!! : Q :Q. Never in my worst nightmare would I use something like that.
Good way to do it, what level of OC do you have on your processor?
2.6C @ 257 FSB 3.34 GHz. Specs are listed in my system rigs profile
What kind of case temps do you see normally?
FWIW, case temps is ~ 27 - 30C. The Abit IC7 mobo tends to report on the high side. I'd have to use an actual temp measuring probe to get a real measurement. Whatever they actually are, its low enough for 100% stability. No need for more wind and noise.
Durability mainly. Reducing the case temps increases the lifespan of the parts
Bah. Electronics can handle a lot more heat than people think. The equipment I work with, my TV and stereo all run MUCH hotter than my PC. It doesn't need to run @ room temperature. The components are running well withing manufacturer specs. Shortened life? Got any statistics? Your components will be obsolete technology LONG before any shortened lifespan (even if it were true).

As far as dust goes, I've seen plenty of PC's of all types clogged with dust. Air filtration is a good idea (I use it)

This subject has been beat to death on other forums such as GH, CPU, Case/cooling. There are many people here running high power systems completely stable without overkill noisy cooling systems. I know of one that runs 3 GHz with no case fans at all. Just the PS fan. OEM systems run the same. Others like a ton of air moving through the case and dont mind the noise that goes with it. I like my peace and quiet.

Preliminary results for my 9800P. I dont have a lot of time to run a bunch of extensive tests, but here is what I have.

i used ATiTool as the overclocker and stability tester. I used the "find max" core and mem speed utility each time. It seems pretty accurate and should be good enough since all results came from the same test utility. The core and mem test were done individually. I haven't (yet) tested to see how far it will go with both overclocked at the same time.

9800P stock speed = 380/340

Stock cooling
410/366

Arctic Cooling Silencer in low speed mode (1200 rpm)
415/369

Arctic Cooling Silencer in high speed mode (2400 rpm)
425/376

Not a bad increase.
