They flee to the mountains in Afghanistan and go into hiding, just like shedding light on a cockroach. The USA and American citizens know that the second you leave Afghanistan, the radical clerics will come down from the mountains and take over and start their war against America again.
The only solution is an indefinite occupation of Afghanistan, they can never be defeated in the mountains, but they can never come down while we still occupy the country.
There have only been in the last 3-4 years about 400 American deaths a year. A small price to pay for keeping the Taliban in the mountains and our borders safe from terrorism.
I estimate that worldwide terrorism can be eliminated entirely if our military increased its size about 10-fold and permanently occupied every terrorist producing country. Would also eliminate unemployment as many of the unemployed would enlist in the new expanded military.
